I love to get one purely for the case so I can gut it and fit a raspberry pi in to run a RetroPi. That way I can get every single NES game made (plus a shitload more) instead of just the 30 it comes with

Unfortunately its $100 in Australia...

If this thing sells for more than 15 britbux (which it definitely will) I'm not going near it.

Also I can just imagine these games looking *amazing* on my 65" 4k TV

(checked it before posting it's 49.99 brit bux what the FUCK)

This megadrive one is the same price. Except it comes with 80 games AND lets you use real megadrive cartridges.

Nintendo are having a fucking bubble @ 50 bux
>>

Buying locally.

Haven't checked importing yet but considering how much it usually costs to ship stuff here I can't imagine it'll be too much cheaper

Just checked. $59.99 US comes to approximately $80 AU. So that leaves $20 for shipping plus whatever profits the reseller will want

>>
>>55610786
>/v/'s speculating it uses rebadged wii hardware because it uses Wii controller ports

That doesn't make sense. Even with the Wii (actually Gamecube) hardware being as old as it is, it's very unlikely that they'd use such hardware in a $50 box and still make a profit. Even if we consider that Nintendo could re-purpose unsold Wii mini stock and reprogram them, it would cost them even more for labor just to repackage them.

You also underestimate the versatility of ARM cores too; being able to display at HDMI while playing NES games and support controllers in a tiny, cheap package. A board with a cheap ARM SOC, flash memory and in a novel plastic shell would net big margins in a $50 price tag.
>>

I have a green one of these my friend sold me back in HS for $25 before they were popular. Have all the pieces with it too. He wants (to buy) it back now. Wonder what he's gonna offer. Don't know if I want to sell it, though all it does is sit in the corner of my room.

250 or so in total, have 6 physical copies and the N3DS XL itself (a special edition).
Ah but if you count the crazy storage SD then that's another extra, but it pays itself by having all possible games in it (since deleting and installing games does take a bit of time).

My friend has one of these and it's pretty stupid considering there are dozens of better options for watching streams. But damn if it isn't convenient and takes up almost no room. I would get one but you can't play local files (from a phone) on it without re-encoding so it's almost useless to me.

I feel its getting out of hand with little streaming devices and tablets and shit, a PC or desktop does all of that shit way better, and can be hooked up to your TV. I understand the market of just plug it in and forget about it but damn if a PC dosnt just do it all and better.
>>
>>55624422
I have one. I love being able to just beam shit over to the TV when I wanna watch it but Jewgle fucked up the software side hard core.

Okay so let's say I find a video I want to stream and it's not on Youtube. There is no way to send the video source and stream directly from the chromecast. Even if I find the link to the raw mp4 I have to stream the video to my computer, use the extension (Which is exclusively for Chrome and nothing else) to capture my window, and then stream the recording of the stream to my TV, and then of course it looks and sounds like shit
Also, fucking nothing supports it. Windows has built in casting features, but doesn't support chromecast, Firefox can't stream at all, VLC added support in the nightlies then took it out, Twitch stopped working with it. Basically it's good for Youtube and that's it.

>>
>>55624787
Chromecast is compatible with a lot of video streams. You just need to find an app that will let you stream an arbitrary URL. I haven't seen one, but it'd be relatively easy to make so I'd be surprised if it didn't already exist.

>You certainly picked the right time to want to expand your Chromecast horizons. Our favorite Android file explorer app ES File Explorer just recently updated and released a Chromecast plugin. It’s fantastic as it allows you to not only stream any compatible video/audio file format from your phone (whether it’s located on the internal memory, SD card, or attached storage) but it also allows you to stream any compatible media source that you can access via ES File Explorer (which would include the network shares you’re talking about).

For my Dell OptiPlex 755 MT Windows XP gaming machine, I want the following:
>1GB GeForce GT610 or better for late-2000's titles.
>Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 MCE FM for capture.
>Xbox 360 wireless receiver for controller support.
>Possibly a USB card so I could add more peripherals in the back.
>Dell copper heat pipe heat sink from the C2Q OptiPlexes and P4 Dimensions to keep that Core 2 Duo E8500 extra cool.
>Cooler Master Elite 400W to support the graphics card and because I'm in desperate need of a new one.
>A 4-pin Molex to 3-pin fan adapter so I could hook up a 92mm fan that I took out of an HP-Compaq.
Also, please excuse the poor picture quality.

I got one of those from a family member a few years back, it's a piece of shit. Cheap plastic garbage, emulates a few games and the pre-installed list isn't that good (Only Sonic & Knuckles, no Sonic 3 & Knuckles) and if you try put in a Megadrive cartridge it takes a lot of power to pull it out of the slot, I nearly broke it trying to pull the cartridge out
