Anyone have tried this ?
What are they looking to accomplish with making yet another Linux distro?
Budgie looks neat, but I don't want to break my install just for test purpose
I've got it on a little old netbook, it's a pretty great use for that. I probably wouldn't use it for a daily use desktop or laptop, but for those machines that you rarely get on to accomplish basic tasks, it's a great fit. It's just a pretty simple DE and doesn't have a lot of software in it's repos.
That netbook only has 1GB of RAM and Solus with the Budgie desktop only uses ~300MB on boot. It's pretty, relatively lightweight, and has everything I needed. Pop it in a virtual machine and see what's what.
