So my Android OS was 4.2.2 and I wanted to update it, but OTA downloads don't work since I rooted my phone forever ago. I thought I'd try unrooting it and used SuperSU to do it, but my system is still considered modified so I can't do it. Now I'm stuck with an unrooted, modified phone. What can I do to reroot my phone and manually update my OS? I don't want to factory reset it.

Use kingroot to root your phone again, then use autorec to flash a custom recovery. Then, flash the updated rom manually using the custom recovery.

Will that be fine? I used Odin before, I think. Been so long I don't remember the method I used. Will using another program be fine?
You cold probably use cyanogenmod to get a newer android version and still have root access

>kingoroot
ccp botnet

Yes, there are no issues, and if there is one, kingroot automatically restores your phone to its original state prior to running the program

Since kingroot will just be a temporary fix before flashing the new room, I don't see how it's a problem

Alright, I'll give it a try. Thanks.

hi everyone, i'm very illiterate about this mods, rooms, kernels thing.
i have a samsung galaxy nexus and i want to upgrade it to 4.4.4, i've been told that cyanogenmod 4.4.4 makes phone decent again.
i've downloaded nexus root toolkit v2.1.6 but i don't know what to do next, i even don't know what to download, all those nightly, snapshot etc. are giving me headaches.
I'm still reading to figure out what to do but i really need some help. please babysit me ;_;
