I know of this. But I would like to know if Microsoft will give me a key for Windows 10 themselves if I don't have a license. I don't want to bypass activation since I have till the end of this month to get a free copy.

You buy it, like you would any other piece of software? You can install W10 using the media creation tool and bypass any time it asks you to input a key. Then when it bothers you to activate, you just buy it (at full retail price).
