Question about the Samsung Gear VR - I downloaded a 360 degree movie onto my SD card, but when I play it with Oculus Video is actually displays as two cupped images with black space like this in the Gear, instead of putting one in each eye.
Essentially as if I'm just watching it on a normal monitor.
Am I missing something obvious?
Sorry, I don't have a solution for you. Maybe give the /r/oculus/ subreddit a shot.

Try Var's VR video player
Also, maybe the video you downloaded is the wrong style/format/orientation.

there should be a menu option to set what kind of VR video it is (2D 360, 3D 360, 3D per-eye, etc), too lazy to go pull mine out and check
that screenshot is what it should look like raw on the screen though when displayed properly, unless you're seeing that image in both eyes, which doesn't make any sense if it's actually a 360-degree video and you're probably doing something fundamentally wrong in that case

This fixed it. More options in Var. Many thanks.
