Can you draw a circle with it?
No?

Back to .Net Paint
>>
Just pirate photoshop, you stupid fucking retard
>>
>>55574070
They should have left the old icons, this just looks pathetic because it's a literal copy of photoshop.
>>
>>55574122
you can't draw a circle in gimp?

back to /reddit/
>>
>>55574173
>They should have left the old icons
They have. There are multiple themes to chose from.
>>
>>55574173
it's far more pathetic to make a program completely unusable just to "be different" from the most successful graphic software on the planet.

It will be great if they can copy photoshop as much as humanly possible.
>>
>>55574070
gimp today, krita 3.1 tomorrow
what's going on, everything happens at the same time!

FUCKING HELL, I can't stand this shit. Now I have to relearn what the icons look like and it's probably going to take ages to get used to. SUCK MY cock, gimp team

>boo hoo it's too different from photoshop so i can't learn to use it
>boo hoo it's too similar to photoshop so it must be a ripoff

get your shit straight please
>>
>>55574218
Then you'll just bitch it's a photoshop clone or a ripoff like with people do with firefox for chrome.
>>
>>55574218
It isn't a clone and it doesn't want to be. Comparing it is a compliment though

Can I do layer effects without rasterizing it immediately?
Does gimp have an equivalent to smart objects?
>>
>>55574132
this.

even an old ass version of photoshop is still light years ahead of gimp.

What's the point of Gimp tho.

For quick a simple editing use paint.net. For drawing get Krita. If you want to get serious, invest in photoshop.

I tried Gimp for some time, and it was pain in the ass.
>>
>>55575075

That's, like, the core principle of Ubuntu's release cycle. Only few programs like Firefox get actual version updates apart from each release. Look into Snaps.
>>
>>55574122

Back to the short bus.

What is it about those icons? They look unusable but I can't work out why... They're not even _that_ different from Photoshop's.

Back to Hanna Montana Linux.

Inb4 krita.
Gimp is better.
paint.net is trash.
Why are windows/adobe shills so afraid of gimp?
Aren't corel and psp the actual proprietary competition?

That's so cool, thanks for sharing, OP.

Have been on the GIMP site only an hour ago, but read the release notes for 2.8.18 and then moved on, kek.

My autism always steers me in the correct direction, but I overlooked this one.

I won't spoil myself with an unstable release, because I do graphic design with GIMP at school, but it looks pretty cool.
Can't wait for 2.10 to come out.

>FUCKING HELL, I can't stand this shit. Now I have to relearn what the icons look like

Welcome to my feelings when 3DS Max 2017 came out. The entire UI was given a strangely almost cartoon icon style. Everything is overly colourful and exaggerated.

Luckily most of the UI buttons are still just text, so it's not too bad.

Why people try so hard to develop this piece of shit?
20 year and is still the same slow, retard ui program.
Really, 20 fucking years. But i guess that the developer know better than the user what is better.

wut
>>
>>55577665
It's slow, because it isn't GPU accelerated like Adobe Photoshop.

Most GPUs require binary blobs to work, and it's hard to write something that's both GPU accelerated and that can be compiled to multiple architectures and operating systems.

GIMP is slow because it respects your freedumbs.
>>
>>55574487
But Firefox is actually being destroyed from the inside by paid Google agents.

correction: its corel vs ilustrator

i just prefer using photoshop instead of gimp, beuse i used for 7 years, its logical you gonna use something where u feel confortable, and can get shit done in a couple of minutes.

Gimp is very good but it takes time to get used too, and time is money.
>>
>>55577665
People bash the UI a lot but it's actually much better to use than Photoshop's I find. Less buzzword labelled buttons and everything's presented more immediately
>>
>>55575335
I'm a huge GIMP fanboy, and I like krita. It should be pretty good for someone who draws a lot. The interface works great on a graphic tablet, but krita uses up a lot of resources and it can get quite slow.

I'll stick with GIMP, because it's better for what I do.

This is one of the things that makes photoshopfags jealous of GIMP when they see me using it.
