hey /g/ milfag here and I am looking for the most compact way to store media like movies and stuff while I am deployed. I have a laptop but that is usually full of games. I am pretty limited in my space of stuff that I can take for about a 5-6 month deployment. I have done the external hard drive thing before but it works like ass. I was thinking about buying 5 or 6 200gb micro SD cards and a tablet to play them. what do you guys think? I have about a couple months to get all the files ready any ideas would be appreciated.

Dont forget to make a backup of your shit.

do you even google bro?
Compress the drive or ultra compress with 7zip. Ultra compress would be likely be more compressed.
Your plan seems reasonable, if you can find decently priced MicroSD cards of that size. Honestly, I would compress down some shit. You're not going to be too concerned with image/audio quality on a 7-10" screen while on Active Duty.
Also, a 1-3tb portable hard drives are cheap as sh*t. Get one of those instead.

I have been using handbreak to shrink everything down to 720p it uses a shit ton of CPU power thou

yeah I already planned on it. thanks for the reminder thou
Apart from hardware choices, also consider using H.265 codec to to store more videos on an SDcard.

that is what I have been using so far and it has been working pretty good in terms of file size and quality
