when will companies release their new GPUs with HBM2 memory stacks?
from the research i have done it seems like every generation of graphics card that will be released with HBM2 memory will be VR capable no matter how low end the card
do any of you know what HBM2 is?
or that samsung just recently started mass producing these stacks??

RX480 and GTX1060 don't use HBM2 and both are considered VR ready. If you're really that interested in VR you'd either already have it, or you'll be waiting for 2nd generation headsets in which case you don't have to worry about graphics cards for another year or two anyways.

my question was more or less should i drop 700+ on a gtx 1080 then watch as a year later its memory standard is replaced with somthing significantly better no matter the price point
or should i just wait for HBM2 to come out and spend 700+ then
