Literally, MPC-HC with KCP using madVR is pretty comfy.

I don't understand how MPV is difficult to use. All I did was download it, added the .exe to my path so I can play things through the command prompt and that's it. On Linux I just install it from the repository and I'm done.

My reasons:
1. MPC-HC doesn't run on Linux, so it's not like I have a choice to begin with
2. MPC-HC doesn't offer nearly as many features as mpv. It also requires madVR and ReClock to function on a comparable level, which are both proprietary
3. mpv doesn't rely on deprecated, decades-old clunky APIs to function (go look through DirectShow docs, I dare you)
4. mpv's codebase is a billion times cleaner and easier to update, which makes extending it easy. It's also very scriptable, so I can fine-tune the behavior as much as I want
