So I had to setup a windows 10 today. The laptop was powerful one with core i7.

THE SHIT TOOK >10 FUCKING MINUTES TO BOOT FOR THE FIRST TIME.
10 fucking minutes from my life is gone just on looking at its ugly texts.

Why is micro$hit so fucked up /g/? Is it the sjws or pajeets?
>>
Old meme
>>
>>55551211
It happened to me today.

Windoze kids should stop arguing that Arch lovers spend too much time.
>>
>>55551203
....and how long did it take to boot the second time? You could've done other shit in the 10 minutes you wasted you know.

>inb4 pajeet
>>
>>55551217
I didn't want to touch that abomination the second time, sorry.

You're gonna wait >10 minutes for replies on /g/, so 10 minutes isn't a big deal

Back to linux, attention whore
>>
>>55551223
30 fucking seconds.
That's alot. Even shit-tier Ubuntu with unity can do it faster.
>>
>>55551226
Does take that long for /v/indows babies to defend their botnet.

Windows has more start-up shit than Linux, so obviously.
>>
probably new update op. Mine were slow like that after installing update.
>>
Startup has been fine for me, but using Windows Update in Windows 10 is like the most painful thing ever. It will get stuck at various percentages and not move for hours. This is my second day waiting on the thing to update. I'm contemplating on just ditching 10 altogether if the Anniversary Update doesn't fix this.

Would love to ditch Windows for Linux exclusively, but CAD and TopSpice so can't do anything about that for now.
>>
>>55551248
Arch takes less time to install and setup than your meme botnet.

The only way Windows boot up time is tolerable without resorting to fast boot is by installing the OS on an SSD. A fucking live USB of Linux like Linux Mint is faster than Windows on 5400rpm HDD.

That much hasn't changed over the years with Windows. Don't expect Microsoft to fix it, ever.
>>
Wow, you sure showed every windows user, op.

Literally nobody cares about your use case, if people need windows then they'll install windows.
>>
go away mac os shills
>>
If boot times are your complaint, try using an SSD.

On my computer I press the power button and it doesn't even show the booting logo anymore. It just goes straight into the screen before the automated login.

Linux is going to be faster than Windows to boot on a hard drive, there's no much argument there. It's like saying the snow is white. That said, it is mostly thanks to systemd that it boots that fast.

The first setup for Windows 10 always takes a while to boot.
>>
>>55551288
I am a linux shill. But mac is better than windows. Especially after the release of the botnet.
>>
>>55551298
so what we have
Inconsistent UI
slow boot time
data mining OS
broken updates

what is it that makes you use that shit.

the same answer you'll get everyday
videogames, because it sure isn't because of anime
>>

On a laptop? Absolutely nothing. I don't know why you would consider using Windows on that.

But on a desktop there's CAD, some Adobe tools and of course, games. Let's not forget that driver support will always be better.

Now you're going to say this and that about manchildren and that's fine, it doesn't change the fact that people can't still play many releases on linux.

It was never this bad. With the older Windows update, at least it will download steadily and only freeze in the installation stage.

It's freezing in both downloading and installation phases now. Like they are making System Restore Points every step of the way when that is way too unnecessary.

I mean, even nuget the package manager is not even up to par with the Linux ones.

I do play games. I play civilization, cs:go, rome total war. There are also other amazing games.

They have already been fucking around with windows update on 7 and 8.1, there was a point back in april where you would get stuck on checking for updates for days if you let it unless you installed a standalone fix from microsoft.
>>
>>55551365
Yeah, but you do see the point. The games I play are also available on Linux, however some people play stuff like Fallout 4, every new Denuvo release or GTA V. Or Overwatch which just came out recently. All this sort of stuff doesn't get ported over and a fuckton of people play it or want to play it. That's the explanation of why people use Windows. It just won't change people's minds until EA, Ubisoft, Blizzard and some others decide that SteamOS is a thing they should actively support.

>>55551203
I have a 7yo intel quad core processor in my office and this shit loads up in 45 seconds senpai. Its not the botnet, it's your rig that's shit.
>>
>>55551436
The day multiple triple AAA bullshit games with pisspoor optimization become available on Linux from day 1 is the day you can finally say year of the Linux desktop.
