Fingerprinting is a new way of tracking you across websites.
It's being done right now by companies like Google.
Because unlike cookie based tracking you can't defeat it just by disabling cookies.
There is currently NO FOOLPROOF DEFENCE against fingerprinting (except quitting the Internet).

Google's privacy policy states
>Other technologies are used for similar purposes as a cookie on other platforms where cookies are not available or applicable
https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/key-terms/#toc-terms-cookie

ReCAPTCHA probably contains fingerprinting code:
https://archive.is/9K5gs
This means that the majority of 4chan users could be being fingerprinted, and Google might know about your shitposting habits even if cookies are disabled.

Google releases limited hangout of how much they know about you:
https://news.slashdot.org/story/16/06/29/2038257/googles-my-activity-reveals-how-much-it-knows-about-you
>Oh, they're just remembering what YouTube videos I watched, nothing creepy about that, I already knew they were doing it!
>I guess all those people who fear tracking really are just conspiracy theorists!

Daily reminder to do all your Amazon / eBay / LinkedIn / botnet shit in a completely separate browser to your Googling or buying shit.
It's currently the ONLY way to truly defend against fingerprint tracking.
Double points if you have each browser running in a different VM with a different OS.
Triple points if you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN connection.

my browser is unique I'm untraceable

Other way around m8.
The more unique you are the more fucked you are.

Bull shit.
>>
>>55549662
If you're unique then sites can easily recognize you and tell other sites about you and how to recognize you.
Unless you're changing your appearance regularly uniqueness is a bad thing if you don't want people tracking you
>>
>>55549662
He's absolutely right. Being unique makes you extremely easy to track, that's just logic 101
>>
>>55549168
>new

You're at least 4 years behind.
>>
>>55549750
Unless you are uniquely unique each time, rather than statically unique.
>>
>>55549757
It's relatively new.
People don't really know about it yet

>new way

2/10. That's the best I can give you.

>>55550384
Cookies are session-only and umatrix deletes them every 15 minutes, and my monitor configuration is not unusual.

Not to mention the reported resolution (1440x900) in that link is wrong (actual resolution is 1920x1080p)

What if I am /the Unique/?
>>
>>55551139
It's not Safari, it's a spoofed useragent.

Is this your first month on /g/?

>Triple points of you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN connection.
Quadruple points if you give up browsing completely and move to a mountain where you exclusively enjoy the entertainment your own mind provides.

I don't believe you :^(

kek.
If you had JavaScript enabled they could easily detect your real browser family.
Is this _your_ first month?

For anyone who claims the noscript captcha can still correlate your posts or even what thread you're in back to you, it can't. The noscript captcha can only detect that you are on 4chan. Here's how the noscript captcha works:
>you open the quick reply window
>your browser requests the page for the captcha fallback api using 4chan's unique ID, this does not change from thread to thread, no information about what page you are on is sent in the referrer
>the captcha HTML page that your browser receives has a unique ID that correlates with what image set that it will display, it then loads the image for that image set (the 9 images are actually a single image) with no information about what thread you are in being sent in the referrer
>you fill out the captcha and click verify
>the captcha then sends back to google's sever the image set ID for the captcha that you filled out along with the number of each checkbox you clicked (numbered 0-8) with nothing related to the thread in the referrer
>when you make a post, data is only sent to 4chan
>>
>>55558736
If anyone wants to double check this I used the Firefox addon Tamper Data to examine what was being sent.
