Quick Charge/High Output USB ports on motherboards/cases when?

Are there any drive bay alternatives that take molex or data power that provide high power USB for computers? What's the issue with this and why hasn't this been exploited in desktop PC's yet?

Quick charge destroys the battery.

Are there statistics to back this up? I certainly would be inclined to believe this but what sources can you site to back up your claims?

Nah m8....I might be 11, but I am not a retard

That's how batteries work...

It simply has to do with data transport. There are already numerous ways to achieve quick charge

Provide me a source that explicitly says batteries work less when they receive high charge rates. All I'm asking for is a cite. Phones are being made with non-optional quick charge and non replaceable batteries. What's the deal then.

usb3 ports should support quickcharge.
if they dont then they have a really shitty usb controller.

Just the typical Luddite fear mongering bullshit that plagues the TECHNOLOGY board like cancer.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with Quick Charge.

Just google how a battery works...

In theory the faster charging makes the battery warmer, warmer batteries deteriorate quicker. In practice, I don't think anyone has observed massively different battery lifespans on using a regular charger only vs quick charging exclusively.

Sometimes, yes, in theory things make a difference, but practically not. Later generation plasmas are extremely hard to burn in and it's fine to play video games on them after a short initial burn in period (vs. early plasmas, where fixed UI elements on TV and games often burned in quickly). And certain drive studies found that drives that were kept overly cool (e.g. below 35C if I recall correctly) had higher failure rates compared to those allowed to be slightly warmer (around 40C).

Even if there is a marginal effect, I don't think it would matter in the lifespan of phones for the average person.

>tfw all my drives are about 30-34c

fucking why

>1.5 year old phone
>never go below 40%
>always charge USB only
>works as well as the day I got it

>gfs phone, 6 months
>constant 0 charges
>left plugged in a wall overnight
>can't hold a charge for shit, has to charge several times a day

I don't know anon, it works for me and I don't care.
