has to do with component binning.

Mil-spec components generally must pass a much more difficult test for their resistance to effect by high/low temperature, vibration, irradiation, etc.

HOWEVER, in reality you will never reach anywhere near these limits in your daily use, unless you live in a volcano or space station.

Basic component: good up to 200C
Mil-spec: good up to 250C
Mil-spec 4: good up to 350C
(or similar, the spec varies by what type of part is being binned)

my guess is that they get the cert as an afterthought since they have to make these survive oven-like trips in shipping containers/ the cost to go from mil spec to mil4 is worth the GAYMER marketing cred, might as well put it on the box at that point

>>55531200
Holy shit that's awesome.

Too bad I can't oc on a h81.
Can I?

My h61 has some oc options but none worked on my i5 2400 for obvious reasons...
>>
>>55531160

>buy "military grade" mobo from MSI many moons ago
>find out some time later that the VRM on it is such shit that some processors running at stock speeds were causing it to light on fire or explode
Yeah, "military grade".

>>
>>55531160
Nothing. It's just PR text.
>>
>>55531160
It's a durability gimmick. Mil-spec just means it reaches certain standards the military has for their technology equipment.
>>
>>55531200

Lucky for me I live in a volcano inside a space station so
