I do keep it clean. It use to be a huge mess of cords (ironically messy cords are my aesthetic). It use to be the hottest room in the house because i use to run all of my computers at once. So it smelled like metal and it was muggy. Now it's clean, and i have a fan running at all times. The worst it has smelled was when i finished off my cigar and it smelled like cigar for a few days. That, or when i use to smoke. I like the smell of ganja, but when you have your room smell like patchouli and ganja it isn't really the best smell to have.

Designated battlestation corner. The whole place is just one massive open area flanked by a kitchen and bathroom. I love it, but I don't have nearly enough stuff to actually fill it up. Still, I think it looks pretty good. If a little on the spartan side.
Best part is the cable management, and not just with desktop to peripherals either. I was able to run hdmi and stuff from desktop to tv by threading along the metal raceway things and up through the rafters.
Moved everything around and got a second desk for hobby stuff and paperwork

It's called a studio apartment. It shouldn't be too hard to find in your local real estate and/or rental listings if you look for that term. I almost bought one before I settled on my current, more traditional, one bedroom. They're usually pretty cheap though, it would have saved me $50,000 if I had gone for it.

If you live in US or Canada, you'd probably have good luck looking on craigslist apt listings with the keyword "loft" along with something like "restored", "renovated", "historic", "brick and beam", etc. I just did a quick cursory search in three major US cities and got pretty decent results with those.
