Gmac is better looking than elementary imo. Ubuntu 14.04 based but a 16.04 version is supposedly coming soon.

Devuan: A better debian, systemd-free.
Manjaro: An easier Arch.
Netrunner: Beginner friendly Kubuntu with pre packed codecs, java, flash, virtualbox, etc.
UberStudent: Ubuntu pre packed with a ton of learning applications.
Scientific Linux: CentOS based distro used at scientific facilities.
OpenMediaVault: NAS serverm, easy and better support than any other NAS.
Bedrock Linux: Minimal distro with the ability to use the package manager and the software packed in Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora...
Guix System Distribution: One of the contenders to the best package managers, Guix, makes his own distribution.
Exherbo: Better Gentoo with more power for power users and a bette package manager.
Source Mage: The best source based distro IMHO.
