Whatever info in there is very likely inaccurate and in any case everyone has moved on to 8.1 or 10.

Windoze writes [tons of shit] to the disk it's installed on. If you install it on an SSD and fill it mostly up it will wreck whatever free sectors you have with all the bullshit it does. It's not an issue if you get a 1 TB drive, but don't install it on a 120 GB drive and expect it to last 3 years.
