no, they're smart ways of doing software architecture as your projects get bigger.

its pretty important stuff. not followed you end up rewriting your code constantly as it grows.

No they are quite important but overused can make your life harder.
You can trust me or just learn it hard way when you code starts getting to big and you will start using them before you notice. I did the latter.
