Reinvent the wheel, simple as that. There was IM before Whatsapp, there were Social Networks before Facebook... Now its your turn, Anon. Nothing lasts forever, but everything repeats over and over again
>>

uh like. Make an app that sends text messages in like an hour or like a few days?

Like a reminder, but it sends your reminder when you want? I don't know. You're only gonna get rich of overpriced Apps and shitty FPS games. Your Social networking site won't work.
>>
Fucking keked hard, thanks OP.

You should make a program that is capable of cultural engineering through every possible vector (posting on social media, making fake accounts, rigging online polls etc) which utilizes cutting edge grammar understanding and machine learning. It would be distributed like a botnet but would do so in a legal manner. It would need to be almost true AI but with your speedy algorithms it should be no problem.

Also you won't make any money but you just might save the world. :^)
>>
>>55511823
Everything simple and easy has already been coded, yes, but there are fucking complex problems yet to be solved through program. Hell, in mathematics alone there are probably 100+ unsolved problems in the computational area, not to mention problems that were not yet found.

I see. So you mean the multiplicative inverse as opposed to the inverse of a function.

My mistake for assuming that the terminology from mathematics was being used. Thanks for the education, senpai.

And, yeah, if he actually has an algorithm that is able to perform better than two casts and an application of a single iteration of Newton's method, I'd be interested to hear about it. I'd also be interested to hear about how well his algorithm can approximate the reciprocal of the square root of a general floating point number.
>>
>>55513991
Because then the dumb fuck would think that it was the inverse function of x^.5
>>
>>55514076

My hunch would be that either (a) it's actually significantly slower than Newton's method or (b) it doesn't approximate roots nearly as well for as many iterations.

You're wrong, OP.
1990, the world wide web.
2000s, the interactive web
2007, ios
2008ish, Android, augmented reality
2015ish, virtual reality although it's actually just more elaborate augmented reality
Other developments: intelligent (embedded) systems, big data

New developments are constantly happening. A lot of these are quite complex though and may even require actual engineering skills, so I wouldn't expect a code monkey to develop them.
Either way though, if you always keep up to date with new skills, it shouldn't be hard for you to get an edge of other people. If you started developing android apps right when they came out, you might have had a chance to make something successful. You'll just have to wait until the next thing gets developed by the actual engineers.

For general programming, you don't need any math skills. If you want to be able to solve "interesting logical problems", you're going to want to develop your math skills. A skilled and experienced programmer (who has no formal math training) can "intuitively" come to the same conclusions that a trained computer scientist would. However, these are things that can be developed in a shorter time by developing mathematical reasoning skills.

Why worry about what hasn't been made? Take other ideas and do it better. It's all about filling in the open spaces. Things come and go. If you really wanted to make a lasting impact on the world you'd give people something they didn't know they wanted.

My suggestion: Software and hardware that respect the users privacy. It has to be preinstalled and easy to use for normies to take it seriously. Make Linux as easy to use as Windows and you'll make billions selling hardware that's optimized for it. Start small with just the OS. Then move on to building your own laptops with Intel chips. Eventually you'll be building your own. You'll be a no bullshit version of Apple.

~20% of men worldwide are circumcised. The rates of infant circumcision in the US are ~30-40% currently. Rates used to be much higher though. In Washington it is 15%, along with some other western states.

Circumcision for non religious reasons is a very american thing. Most men worldwide that are circumcised are muslim or jewish.

Circumcision was started in the US to stop masturbation, because people believed that masturbation caused disease. It became a tradition and continued after that.

wow I'm making a programming language that will replace all existing programming languages you should totally use it for your OS

Make something like Jarvis from Iron-Man. Ofc not that shitty fucking assistant like cortana or siri or google now with their robotic voices/

nowadays, that algorithm isn't faster than (any) standard library's sqrt(). try it. I did:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <math.h>
#include <time.h>

float fastinvsqrt(float x) {
float xhalf = 0.5f * x;
int i = *(int*)&x;
i = 0x5f3759df - (i >> 1);
x = *(float*)&i;
x = x*(1.5f-(xhalf*x*x));
return x;
}

int main(void) {
float start = (float)clock()/CLOCKS_PER_SEC;
float fis;
for(int i=0;i<1000000;i++) fis = fastinvsqrt(603729);
float end = (float)clock()/CLOCKS_PER_SEC;

printf("%f: %f\n", end - start, fis);

start = (float)clock()/CLOCKS_PER_SEC;
double std;
for(int i=0;i<1000000;i++) std = 1.0/sqrt(603729);
end = (float)clock()/CLOCKS_PER_SEC;

printf("%f: %f\n", end - start, std);
}

It's slower on modern hardware, actually.

yes that's what I said

Write a fancy jira/confluence/whateveratlassianstuff plugin that exports/imports/plots shit and sell it to enterprises.

Not software, but go as far inland as possible and build a giant sand warehouse, fill it and wait ~10 years until sand prices skyrocket. Enjoy your 1000x returns.

why the fuck would we trust a tripfag
you probably smell of cheese, faglord.
you're a neet anyway, not an EE, lol.

Use brackets instead of whitespace too. What a bad idea...

vr needs this:

video converter program that analyzes existing pov material, stabilizes the dick to be bottom center at all times (very important), and adds some fake stereoscopic 3d

the amount of "vr" stuff would increase expornentially
>>
>>55525743
Too many POV videos have too much movement of the subject tho, stabilising by the dick would be trippy as fuck
>>
>>55525766

dude said he had master programming skills tho
>>
>>55513882
Yeah, I don't have any dick scar dude. And it does just look better aesthetically. Hooded dicks look funny, there are also some legit medical benifits, Plus I never have smegma to deal with.

>>55525903
Oh yea, thanks man. Forgot about dat endless skill

float Q_rsqrt( float number )
{
long i;
float x2, y;
const float threehalfs = 1.5F;

x2 = number * 0.5F;
y = number;
i = * ( long * ) &y; // evil floating point bit level hacking
i = 0x5f3759df - ( i >> 1 ); // what the fuck?
y = * ( float * ) &i;
y = y * ( threehalfs - ( x2 * y * y ) ); // 1st iteration
// y = y * ( threehalfs - ( x2 * y * y ) ); // 2nd iteration, this can be removed

return y;
}

Good to know that the programmers had no idea how it worked either.
