I was looking lately for a 5"/1080p with good specs, so I am kinda excited to see what Google/HTC has to offer. I don't like the top and bottom bezels of the mockup (looks like 5x, what an awful waste of space), but a man can still hope for a Nexus 5P and a worthy successor of pic related.

Yep. The 5S is the pinnacle of phone design. Sony came close but none of their phones hold up to the design like iPhones do. Apple will be doing AMOLED soon enough.
Also, everyone seems to shit on the locked down model but take a step back and look. iOS9 adoption is leagues ahead of Android which is a fragmented mess. If you buy a flagship you just cross your fingers youre getting N. Accessory support for iPhone is also leagues ahead as is software quality. Even Google software is better on iPhone. And now look, google is going to start taking Nexus into their own hands and make their own smartwatch too.
