Say what you will about gene's vests, but it is a known fact that he beat his wife mercilessly during Apollo's heyday, and still was a hero back at the office. I'm talking open cuts on his knuckles torn open from teeth. And he never splattered on that fine white vest.

I finally for the first time in my life met an IRL conspiracy nut. Didn't believe people landed on the moon.

Easily one of the dumbest people I've ever met.

When he found out I was an atheist and didn't believe in god, I just kind of said "I believe in what I can see" to put an end to it.

He goes "Can you see radio waves?"

We didn't remain friends.
>>
>>55505914
The greatest irony is that conspiracy theory believers consider themselves to be more intelligent and enlightened.

Iirc the whole thing was very specifically engineered for one purpose, ie, guidance. People keep comparing the apollo flight computers to modern standards without considering that it was a computer built to do one thing and do it very very well.

Your wristwatch might have a faster microprocessor but it would be incapable of the calculations the apollo computer performed.

what about the one that the russians put up there on the back of their remotely controlled vehicle without putting anyone on the moon at all?
because i suppose only a human could have put one on the moon, we couldn't have just strapped one to a big firework and blasted it away into space.

p.s. only huge giant laser telescopes that can produce like a gigawatt pulse of light in about a nanosecond or something mad like that and are capable of detecting the like 4 or 5 extra photons with a photo multiplier during the receiving window are capable of 'proving' (showing that it is statistically likely that the moon became 0.000001% more reflective for a while) that the retroreflectors are even there.
that shit you saw on the big bang theory when they did it with a laser pointer from a corner shop was utter bile.

>>
It's about time NASA comes clean about it. It doesn't matter if they published the source code on github after 50 years.

China will develop the capability to go to the Moon really soon and NASA is all too aware that they're not gonna find the US flag and Neil Armstrongs footprints there so if you ask me, all this Github Apollo repository is just a bait and switch tactic to divert people's attention about what really happened in 1969. The reality is that we haven't been to the moon and the only "evidence" they have is a fuzzy black and white video which they conveniently "lost".

It's 2016 and with all our computers and super computers and whatever space technologies we developed, we haven't gone past few hundred miles above the earth.
>>
>>55513042
in today's money, the Apollo project cost well over 100 billion dollars

You say that as if the hard part of the operation is the software and not the industry+hardware. If you think chinkshit is going to the moon anytime soon, you're as delusional as the "India Superpower 2050" mongs
>>
>>55513261
Money is a farce. It doesn't matter how much it is in today's money. They didn't build a time machine for that to be relevant anyway. They should've made it free in the first place but that's a completely different matter.
>>
>>55513042
>The reality is that we haven't been to the moon
No, the reality is, you fell for one of the weakest conspiracy theories there is; one that makes no sense if you'd actually know anything about the cold war, and one that would be impossible to pull off.
>>
>>55513566
Yeah, that's why they keep going to the Moon every weekend after mastering spaceflight. That's why Neil Armstrong never made any public appearances. That's why you keep filling people's hope about Mars for decades even though the Moon is much closer. Hell even your own rockets have been failures that just to get to orbit around the EARTH, you ask Russia to take you there.

Your ability to think is being hampered by unhealthy patriotism.
>>
That chair looks super comfy.

Modern desk chairs are fucking trash.
>>
>>55513757
>Yeah, that's why they keep going to the Moon every weekend after mastering spaceflight.
What kind of argument is that? Give me a reason why they should've kept going to the Moon first. The space race had its victor and there was nothing to gain - "because you can" isn't a valid reason to spend money if you're a government agency. Public interest was already declining rapidly while the Apollo program was still going and it only picked up recently with SpaceX and high-profile Mars missions like Curiosity. And explain this to me: if the Americans faked the whole thing, why would the Soviets play along? Or are you seriously suggesting that they couldn't tell?

>Your ability to think is being hampered by unhealthy patriotism.

>>

I hate to break it to you but plenty of anomalies have been discovered in the photos and videos they claimed to have taken on the moon, which conclusively proves that the whole program was a hoax.

They didn't have the capability to travel 238,000 miles and back with humans aboard, and 50 years later they still don't have the capability.

I don't know if you're trolling but I question your reasoning abilities and your inability to process information is unsettling.

Those so-called "anomalies" have been explained numerous times and very satisfactory so. And the people who brought them up in the first place don't know shit about space travel or science. It's a mix of half-knowledge and paranoia (or some similar condition) that causes some people to still question the evidence. But conspiracy theorist only believe in evidence THEY came up with and call bullshit on everything else anyway - arguing against them is a Sisyphean task which I'll quit with this post.

Women are less suited for tech positions biologically. This is not a social issue. You are hated because you are trying to make it into a social issue and are advocating for unfair hiring conditions. Not because of safe spaces or anything like it.
>>
>>55517564
I'm not "hated". I make people angry. And the people I make angry are trying to make women with greater aspirations into miserable housewives so I don't care. What I'm annoyed at is the sense of entitlement /pol/tards have with this entire website. You do not own it, it's not your safespace, and if you can't be around people who disagree with you without telling them to fuck off, you're a deranged individual and need to deal with your own problems instead of making them other people's problems.
>>
>>55517643
You're misusing the word safe space.
Safe space means you are forcefully removed from premises when you go against what's considered norm in that safe space.
4chan is no safe space for anything and users telling you to fuck off does not make it one.
You people are ones needing safe spaces because whenever someone wants to debate you in a civil manner, you have nothing to respond with. Your tactics are harassment.

Excuse me?

Oh, you're putting me in the same basket as tumblrinas. Typical of conservatards. Considering people on an individual level requires too much brainpower and it's so convenient to take the lowest example of something and apply it without discrimination to EVERYTHING you dislike.

Nobody here debates me in a civil manner. They either tell me to fuck off or they twist my arguments and put words in my mouth based on screenshots they saw in feminist/tumblr cinge thread on /b/. My only stance is that women weren't necessarily the vain pieces of shit depitcted in these "women who code"-or-whatever-it's-called screenshots circulating occasionally here and I'm already being put in the same ranks as the feminazis who accuse everyone of stare-raping them. This is what dealing with conservatards is like. It's a real fucking joke and I hear it every. fucking. day.

Regardless, pushing women to study/work in fields they do not wish to is retarded. There are tons of fields dominated by women that men don't want to work in, as there are fields dominated by men that women don't want to work in.

You literally said women were not fit for jobs in technology. I don't have to explain to you how that's liberticide biological determinism, do I? You're not too slow to figure that out on your own, right?

If there's something life-draining about arguing with conservatards, it's how I have to break down, over and over again, very basic concepts.

>The irony of this statement. You do understand that this isn't your safespace either, don't you?
I didn't tell anyone here to leave. I told someone to not tell me to fuck off to tumblr because it's ridiculous. The reason I'm not on tumblr is because I don't want a safespace in the first place. That doesn't mean I won't tell people who feel entitled to this website to eat shit.

Well the jet fuel softened the steel beams, so the collosal weight on top of them was enough to bend them. Then when the top structure fell onto a lower part the combined weight + energy from the fall collapsed the next layer, and this continued until it was ground level.

No. That is your perception problem. For fuck's sake, how hard is it to understand? How about everytime you post against crime gangs you have to dissociate yourself from racism? Everytime you speak out against pedophilia you have to dissociate from homophobia? Everytime you speak out against self-entitlement you have to dissociate yourself from ageism? See what I'm doing there? It's what you're doing. Speaking out against sexism is a legit cause, harassing people is not. The fact that you put both together IS LITERALLY YOUR CONSCIOUS CHOICE because PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST SEXISM ARE INCONVENIENT TO YOU, AND THEREFORE IT IS CONVENIENT FOR YOU TO ASSOCIATE THEM WITH EVIL.

I do not have to pander to your special snowflake needs to be reassured that I'm not a tumblrina just because I speak out against something that should be evidently considered wrong to anyone who's remotely balanced. It is not. my. problem. It is your problem. Get this through your thick skull already you self-entitled twat. It's an undeniable fact.

Neo-liberals share a personality type with the stereotypical american conservatard. Categorizing, faithful to an ideology born of memes instead of facts, and hateful towards anyone who says otherwise. With liberal themes being so dominant in the west, they are bound to win over the moronic majority. Your "college educated progressive" club is, and has been, slowly deteriorating. Exposure ripped the door off, and now you get to experience all the fun of sharing opinions with idiots who barely know why they hold them.

I know you have a WSJ article bookmarked saying bla bla bla racism tiny brains broad categories, but please take a look at liberal identity politics for a moment and tell me it's not rhetorically identical to standard american racism. Hint: you can't, because racism used for what are supposedly the forces of good is still racism.

inb4 prejudice+power
Racism without power is still real, it's still heard, and it still affects other people's behaviour. Social institutions are spooks anyways, any black man can fire a gun. Is lawmaking power? Maybe, but lawbreaking is a much greater one. Who here comes from a country that actually defeated a guerilla force?

My point was just that women should be allowed to have IT jobs. Jesus fuck.

Listen. I don't think I know anyone who is not progressive to an extent. And out of a subset of something like 50 Facebook friends the mind of whom I know the bare minimum about, maybe 3 of them are somewhat, SJWs and maybe, MAYBE they adhere to the racial identity stuff.

This is the reality of progressivism.

The biggest factor of your concerns is the fact that you cherry pick loud examples from the world of Tumblrina and instead of dismissing them as hilarious nutcases like I do, you obsess over them and identify them as "liberalism", like it's a great enemy and that the existence of a democrat government proves they are taking over the world of something.

None of that reflects reality. Not even remotely.

We just want cops to stop hunting darkies like it's a sport and women to be allowed to hold jobs that require skills if they can pull it off.

Conservatards pretend that reasonable, small demands such as these are a threat and that it's liable to lead to their oppression. And they project the words of tumblrinas as "evidence". This makes it so ALL progressive discourse is automatically ignored, and there's no way to push for mere common sense. Because with the way you guys make it out, the only way to avoid being in a regiment that oppresses white men is to keep oppressing blacks and women.

This is fucking retarded and juvenile. Not everything is a war where the only possible outcome is a winner and a loser.

Being for progress doesn't mean being for anything other than progress. You make that imperative on your own initiative, and you are hurting progress by doing so, and pushing for regression at the same time.

You do this on purpose, because it's in your best interest.

This is what tumblrinas refer to as "a shitlord".

Who cares about your point

Your post is funner to nitpick

>We just want cops to stop hunting darkies like it's a sport and women to be allowed to hold jobs that require skills if they can pull it off.
Hey, you got your wish. Cops aren't hunting darkies. Instead, cops are very much afraid of darkies and react like frightened dogs after a century of darkies lashing out at them for actual oppression committed by similar looking people (basically the same line of thought that makes cops assume every nigger has a gun).

Women can have jobs that require skills. Many do, and they're all over law, finance, medicine, real science, and politics now, but most women aren't interested in jobs that involve entirely worthless skills like knowing CSS. Those are traditionally the domain of men with mental disorders. The kind of freaks that derive psychological pleasure from organizing legos all day. Why do feminists want to waste perfectly good women on jobs for worthless anime watching crazies? It's like they're insecure and think man = superior and man choice = superior choice or something.

People by and far hear, "We went to the Moon." Its easy to think thats impossible, how you could only achieve it on paper. They literally have no personal comprehension of any of the shit that humans had to think up to go to the Moon. We are backsliding today because of the public consciousness being polluted by you very same fucks who would dare to think anything in this reality is impossible. You fools. We have eternity in a grain of sand, nothing is out of reach of Man except for what he decides is out of his reach.

Want proof of the Apollo program and the TRUTH? Follow the money! Follow the companies contracted to make the shit! You people who say "We never went" never even looked. The engines, command modules, the space-suits, the moon buggy, the computers, nearly EVERYTHING was contracted out! This required hundreds of thousands of humans and about a hundred billion dollars.

You don't just say "We never split the Atom, too hard. It was faked." because it has tons of evidence to the contrary...this has the same amount of evidence of it happening you dolts. Find me a reason we can't go to the Moon and I'll find you a shitty source.

North American Aviation, Northrop Grumman, Rocketdyne, IBM, ILC Dover, General Motors, Goodyear Aerospace, Westinghouse Corp., Whirlpool, General Dynamics, thats just to start. All of them would have to be rock-steady compliant. Everyone involved. Are these companies willing to risk their reputations, their futures, on a lie? All these companies would lie about their revenues, profits, expenses?

...Just to fuck with Russia, who mind you would DEFINITELY shit on the USA if the moon landings were not real.

I believe he means that the "us against them" disposition that some black activists has is similar to, or actually just plain racism against whites.

He is not completely wrong. There is a lot of black people with genuine spite for white people. It's not constructive at all.

However, that's basically the only problem with it. It doesn't help their cause. It's really rare that a white person is truly victim of racism. Something for example like a bunch of black people ganging up on a white guy, or a black thug targetting white people on purpose, that's a good example of when whites are victims of racism. Otherwise, you're not getting your resume ignored because your name sounds too white, and you were born with a much lower chance of being raised in a shit ghetto if that means anything to you.

Plus, blacks in the US are under the impression that they can be bullied and shot to death by cops and that the justice system won't stand by them. Whether that is reality, that's how they feel, right? And that's absolutely fucking terrifying. If I was under that impression about a race that dominated me in population size, I'd probably hate them too.

But the way to make peace with blacks isn't to hate them back. You can't solve violence and hatred by escalating violence and hatred. That can only end with the complete extermination of one of the sides. Blacks need to be convinced that they are welcome in white society, and a few generations later maybe ghettos will become safe.

>Being for progress doesn't mean being for anything other than progress.
Your definition of progress and how to go about it,
and the same progress conservitards seek and the way they go about it,
is the same.
Horeshoe Theory best proven through feminism which has too much in common with conservatism.
From being anti-sex, to being anti-individualist, to being defined by collectivization and categorization (ergo it is called feminism) even though such a system is contrary to egalitarianism,
to defaming and bullying people over their choice of fashion (the probe scientist) like those religious police in the Middle East do,
to using moral and ethical rules (progressivism) to justify, excuse, and leverage, being control freaks and stifling anyone and anything not working exactly as their book rules dictate or not being part of their back-patting collective (especially moderates who are the biggest threat to feminism).

You and the conservitards you are butthurt about are part of the same coin.
The same fucking coin. You just justify your egomania and savior complexes with a slightly different modified wording of the same moral and ethical superiority complex shit.

But I do not prone any of these things, senpai.

All I stand for is equal opportunities and positive/affirmative models for women. These are causes of their own. It is unfair to assimilate it to all the bullshit that gets in the subset of feminist causes because they do not value freedom. It is destructive to assimilate it as so, because these fights are not yet won, we still have to fight them, and dismissing them as liberticide over screenshots of retarded shit tumblrinas post is completely retarded.

The solution to feminists ruining feminism is not to be against feminism. It's fixing feminism. If you oppose feminism as a whole, you stand for regression. Even if that's not what you personally want, it will be the result thereof.

>All I stand for is equal opportunities and positive/affirmative models for women.
That's not equality, that's radicalism.

Equality requires shedding gender as a category and treating people as individuals.
Feminism is just the act of using equality as an excuse to relegate it into a soccer match team division where it roots for one team and acts against the other with the social tact of a soccer riot.

I'm sorry, but in order to fix feminism, you have to disassociate it from categorization.
And you can't do that because the source of all problems in feminism sources from the name itself (feminism).
A name that encourages categorization and gender division, and inherently leads towards it.

You want to fix it? You destroy it and go back to egalitarianism.
Much like most people are doing these days who have turned from feminism in the past 4 years, as well as all the "women against feminism" who are massively increasing in numbers.
This case is one of the rare cases where nomenclature change actually makes a fucking difference and has long-term symbolic effect that projects onto the mentality of the members.

If you're using that logic, then no one could take credit for the moon landing. Human technology is an ongoing build up of the knowledge of our ancestors. Without electricity, they wouldn't have had their computers in the first place, so how can they claim any responsibility for it? For the most part, our family lines and each individual person has played their role in the world and that is how humans got to the moon.

Or even the farmers who grew the food to ensure the scientists could even survive long enough do the moon landing in the first place. The entire country played a role in making it happen, one way or another. So stop getting so fucking TRIGGERED by the word we

Spaceflight is not that computationally expensive, you can do most of the math in your head, and many astronauts have and continue to have to do it.

Besides, the kind of gear that would have been available to a large, well-funded organization like NASA in 1969 weren't even that primitive, really. They had fleets of 36-bits like the IBM 7090 series, probably some DEC systems, maybe even some early supercomputers like the CDC 6600.

women do not yet feel allowed to take all the space in society which they have the potential to take. there is a lot of self-esteem issues with women that are propagated and maintained by our collective consciousness.

you see big employers keep numbers of how many women they hire, yes. but in smaller businesses, it's the far west, and it's not uncommon for managers to be quite literally sexist pigs. this is speaking from my own and from close ones' experience

there are a lot of women raised to believe they can't fill in important roles in society. almost as worst is believing that it is "special" to do so, that it is a "statement", because then they have to choose between being discrete and liked or living their whole life as a "statement". We are far from that era where women are just like men in the job market, they're just... there, it's not a special thing, it's not a thing that needs to be force, that speaks of anything about society, it's just that. This hasn't happened yet and it needs to be brought about.

That you think the legit fight for equality is over and that the only possible things feminism can accomplish are liberticide shows that you lack imagination and the good faith to see the problem for what it is.

Because it's inconvenient for you to admit that sexism is still alive and well.

Because you're a dude and because you have no empathy.

>>All I stand for is equal opportunities and positive/affirmative models for women.
>That's not equality, that's radicalism.
I stopped reading there. How the fuck is that radicalism you dumb fuck? Jesus. Those are the most neoliberal takes on feminism: Give women the same opportunities as men, they'll take them if they can manage. Give women positive models so they figure out their place in society with the same positive baggage men have.

It's the softest, freest approach to feminism.

If you are against that, you are just a traditionalist retard and I'm not gonna entertain you.
>>
>>55518829
Okay, so women are inferior to men and so emotionally fragile that they need a literal hugbox society to do anything but become a career fucktoy AKA married woman. The slightest psychological adversity causes those worthless overgrown little girls to crumble while strong, noble men get angry and punch it in the face. God, why are men so consistently good at life without having to be coddled? Women suck, men are awesome, nerf men.

>>55518843
>I stopped reading there.
>I read the rest, and because i'm too butthurt and have no argument i'm gonna just act against the first sentence
Noice.

Radicalism is the act of one-sided bias. Everything you said is merely a convenient excuse for keeping a one-sided bias.
Ironically, you are the one being traditionalist about feminism and are more interested in keeping your back-patting movement's image stainless than you are in actually fixing your own brain.

No. Women are raised to be that way. It's heavily implanted in our culture.

Even in early childhood, little girls are often taught they have to smile all the time and not throw tantrums whereas it's seen as natural for boys to be stoic, on top of shit and occasionally lose their shit.

The culture most people grew in presented men as heroes and women as damsels in distress. It changed a lot over the past two decades, but even then, we're hardly done: Positive female models are "special", they're "statements". They're a fucking huge deal to emulate because it requires being tough and going against the odds.

You take that confidence you have for granted, but, it seriously is not. A lot of people have it beaten out of them throughout their upbringing, and moreso women than men.

I responded to a guy who said they didn't belong in IT jobs because they were biologically inferior in that field.
