I want to upgrade my PC. Please suggest what i should replace in my setup.
I want it to run Photoshop as fast as possible. Open big PSDs with many layers.
Also maya, zbrush. 3D modeling and sculpting programms. And i also keep 10-20 chrome tabs always open. I don't really use it for anything else. Games are not important.
Here is what i have:
CPU: i7 2600k 3.40 ghz
Memory: kvr1333d3n9k2/8g
GPU: Nvidia gtx 560
Mobo: msi p67a-c43 (b3)
Hard drive: wd1002faex
Power supply: 650w corsair cmpsu-650hx
I guess i should replace memory and hard drive, but should i also change the motherboard for it? I also have no idea how to check compatibility when choosing parts. If you guys could suggest something that would be great.
Get an ssd

What ssd should i get? Any?

You will regret anything less than 250gb... I would start at 500gb even. Samsung something, idk. Just get a tested brand, read reviews
Samsung 850 pro
Honestly, I don't think upgraded ram will help much (minimal gains = not worth it IMO).
Power supply is fine.
Mobo is probably fine, not gunna bother looking it up.
CPU upgrade might be nice, not sure, but that would probably mean new mobo also...
SSD is probably the easiest and most noticeable improvement.
GPU is old but you say no gaming, so it's probably fine.

Thank you anons. I'll get an ssd.
I'd also like more memory. Should i get more of the same sticks or replace with a new brand?

If you can find the same sticks, they'll most likely be very affordable by now. Gains will be marginal at best for different memory.
