like a Intel i5 3570 for example for a lower price tag and better performance

Ditch Ddr4 and skylake since you're on a tight budget. Aim to get a 960 since you're going to play games on it primarily.
Instead get an x97 board with Ddr3 memory and an i5 2500k cpu. They will serve you far better.
Firstly you will not notice any major difference between the memory types and i3 cpus are generally terrible for games since you lack bunch of features. i3 cpus are generally made for work and heavy multithreading, and multi threading does not really improve anything in games.

Are you sure 120GB are enough? I love my 240GB SSD, but I have an HDD to back it up, and even then I have to manage my disk space every two weeks or so because some retarded Steam game allocates 20GB for a 500MB update.

ultimately you can take the front intake and set it as exhaust. you can test this out on your own, run a stresstest with both configs and you decide bruh.
From my personal experience exhaust helps cooling more.
