screens got bigger

With plenty of screen space, why hide them all behind a slim menu bar if you can unroll them for easy acces?

This is what naturally happens once you stop making sure your program will run well on a 640x480 potato

wishful thinking... no they are too autistic to even realize how godlike the UI design in win10 is and rather stick with their disgusting KDE crap.

>>

ribbon is pretty nice in certain programs (ones with a fuckload of functions, with too many fairly common ones to fit in a reasonable amount of space as reasonably sized buttons)
tiles are just buttons for people with sausages for fingers
aero and luna are just themes, microsoft didn't invent themes. aero has a couple things like "aero peek", but fuck aero peek, thankfully it can be turned off, really more about saying "LOOK AT THIS THING WE CAN DO NOW THAT WE DO COMPOSITING" than actually being useful

Ribbon is the dumbest shit ever. Most of the time they're filled with at least 50% shit I'll never need while the other 50% would've fit quite comfortably in a plain old toolbar. I suspect that it's similar for most other people. Want to see what buttons the average Office user ACTUALLY uses? Open a Google Docs tab. The rest doesn't deserve prime screen estate.

For the 1% who actually DOES use everything on the ribbon, the old stacking toolbar system achieved the same thing while giving a greater degree of control. Ribbons improve precisely nothing.
