I'm using bbLean on Windows 7, and I have systembarex loaded instead of the default bblean taskbar because I wanted to be able to see my systray icons. However, I can't right click on some of them, specifically MEGASync. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Are aftermarket case fans worth buying?
I would like to cool my rig down some more, but I don't see how aftermarket fans would make a difference.

The only two noteworthy brands I've seen talked about are these Corsair fans and Noctua's.
Both seem pretty expensive for fans.
>>
>>55468951
aftermarket fans are good for cooling down the actual chip
If you have bad airflow though then the reference design cards are usually better options because the blower style fan directs air away from your components.
>>
>>55468951
Is your pc overheating?
You don't need to keep adding fans, just dust it twice a year and don't block airflow.
Parts are made to withstand heat and most will power down to avoid damage if they actually get too hot.
>>
What do you guys do with your replaced PC parts?
>>
>>55468986
It's not overheating, but the graphics card produces major heat in even the shortest gaymen session.
If I were to get aftermarket fans it would just be for "insurance," to prolong the life of my components without shelling out for water-cooling I suppose.

>>55468962
So these SP design fans from Corsair aren't just a gimmick then. Would they be just as useful for getting air through the HDD rack? I've got 3 on the rack and them along with the cables could potentially be negating the optimal airflow.
>>
>>55469023
try to sell them or give them away
>>
>>55469030
I've never personally used a reference card so I can't accurately reply, but I've heard that the only purpose of them is for improving airflow of the entire case.

So if your issue is that the card is overheating because of airflow and not just heavy load, then yes I would recommend getting reference design cards. In every other case though the aftermarket boards are superior.

Is there any good reason(s) to upgrade to Win10 from Win7?
>>
>>55468861
As an upgrade from a 270x for FHD gaming, would the 480 or the 1060 be better? Theyre both gonna be around the same price i guess. Is the 390/x or 3.5gb meme card a better option at that price?
>>
My random number gen in C++ doesn't work in CLion. I'm including <random> and using time as the parameter but it keeps giving me verrrry similiar number that only change by a tiny percentage.

The RNG works fine in Visual Studio though. Anyone know why this might be?
>>
>>55469023
If it's peripherals then I keep at least a set for backup then either sell or give away the rest.
If it's a graphics card I've replaced for an upgrade, then I would only sell it.
>>
>>55469058
wait for 1060 benchmarks
My guess is that 1060 will outperform it in dx11 and they will be tied or the 480 will have the edge in dx12.

It's really up to you then.
If the card actually burns out and you aren't OCing warranty should cover it but if you want to spend some money for peace of mind I guess it can't hurt.

Money is no object, what's the best USB AC wireless card?

I don't have any free PCI-E slots and I need an AC adapter that's reliable, has good bandwidth/throughput, excellent latency for games.

I'm using a T4UH at the moment and it randomly drops the 5GHz connection, the 2.4GHz spectrum has too much traffic where I live.

If USB AC is inherently garbage, should I DDWRT or OPENWRT a router into ethernet and use it as an access point?

CCleaner is a good program, pirated version for maximum features, adjust the settings correctly & enable the "add shortcut to right-click of recycle bin for 1-click cleanup + reg cleanup
I also suggest "Trend Micro Hijack"
Using the whitelist method
basically what you do is, once you have your computer & browser & other things the way you like them, you do a "scan" with the program
all the results you get, you select them all & pick whitelist
then do the scan again, make sure you get zero results
then in the event things run like shit, or you think you maye have malware or adware or a virus or anything
do the scan again, instead of seeing no results, youll see some results
check all the results & click remove
this will undo the changes which have occurred which are causing slow down, problems, & other issues
its very nice method

The audio cable for my chc silverado headphones is starting to fail, and designed the wiring for these headphones was moronic. Each ear has a stereo jack that only connects to the right channel. The default cable takes stereo and splits it into two stereos, one that maps the right channel input to right channel output, and the other maps the left channel input to right channel output. What's the easiest way to get replacement cable? I'm thinking a stereo to mono splitter, and then mono to stereo cables (the left channel outputs will go unused, but the sound ought to line up), but I'm not super familiar with audio cabling so I don't know if that will work. Help appreciated. I know I can always solder my own cables, but it'll be a minor hassle, and I won't be able to get the cables to look nice.

How do I go about loading websites with only specific blocks of code?

Like let's say I want to detach youtube completely from google + services other than it's youtube database, and get rid of the comments, would I have to manually rewrite the youtube page myself or is there a way to script it. Because rewriting all the required pages would be a shit-ton of work.

I know there's plug-ins, but I'd rather have the stripped version myself.

I was downloading some Twitch VOD [https://www.twitchvods.com/download/] and as usual, after it finishes downloading the video isn't playable for a bit, but if I wait some time and let ffmpeg do its thing, the video will be ready after some minutes (at which point the process is finished, ffmpeg closes and the video is ready).
I started another download after this one, from the same channel, and it worked perfectly as usual, so I don't think it's a problem with any of my software.

It's been many hours and the ffmpeg process is still open, and the video is still unavailable.
I can't redownload it because the video has been removed from the page, and I really need it (it was a guy producing a song in Ableton and he explained a technique I really need to learn).

Is there something I can do?

PS. I'm on Windows 7 BTW.

1. Would this fan configuration be optimal? Two 120mm fans for front intake, and two exhaust fans in the rear of the case.

2. What style of CPU cooler should I go for? I don't want a fanless radiator, but the quieter the better.

3. Of all the components, the GPU is running the most hot. It's a blower style radiator. I can mount a fan just above the GPU on the side panel, should I? Should it be intake or exhaust?

Supposedly it does fine for 1440p and they did a bunch of benchmarks for it. I honestly didn't expect it to work as well as I wanted, but I figured I'd give it a try since I can always return or resell it.

You probably approached it wrong, when facing a new issue start by breaking down, in simple language, how you'll tell the machine to produce the result you want (usually in a step-by-step or flowchart form)
Debugging speed comes with experience, you'll learn to recognize where you usually fault as time goes, for example the first thing I check for when debugging is making sure I've ended all my statements properly since that's usually what I forget

As a person who have been using a Samsung android phone since 2005(mesmerize/note 2/ note 3) and just jumped ship to an iPhone 6s Plus. I really don't need "all that" in a phone. Just to browse the net, make calls, and listen to music.

Some moments I really don't even see a difference between IOS and android based on how I use my phone.

I rather get something cheaper that is just as secure, get a professional digital camera for actual photography, and an android tablet to run emulators on. That would be my basic EDC. Thoughts?

1. you can just pull fans from old builds
2. they aren't always necessary. If you're using a cool graphics card and your CPU runs cool, you may not even need added cooling.
3. You don't even need anything more than the stock CPU fan if you don't plan to overclock and don't mind the noise.

the same arguments in different places may produce different results

-to in your examples isn't affected, changing the position of -ss (before or after an -i) changes the method by which it seeks

I have a Windows 7 serial key somewhere but I've used that on my current computer and also had the free upgrade to W10. If I was to recover that key would I be able to use it on my new computer and then also get the W10 free upgrade or is Microsoft not offering it anymore?
Also would I need to completely wipe my current HDD if I wanted to transfer it to my new rig or can I just connect it up and it will run fine? Obviously the drivers for certain hardware wouldn't be appropriate anymore but will that conflict?

if you're trying to output a certain length video, then use -t instead of -to
for example;

except that I am trimming multiple times from the original video with different durations. i.e. the first trims would start from 00:10:34 and ends at 00:13:54 and the second trim would be another random duration as well so using -to is better for me. If -t is the only method I can use then so be it, I would have to calculate the durations myself but it doesn't seem like a good thing since I have multiple videos to trim a day ...
