Hey /g/ I'm a college student moving in with my parents for the summer and his internet provider concerning copyright infringement (supposidly torrented music) and I'm being presented an ultimatum since he believes he'll be sued/dropped from his provider.
How can I prove everything will be okay so he doesn't kick me out of the house?

You seriously didn't know it was illegal? It is not stealing by any legal definition though. And not by ethical standard either, since it only deprives the rightsholder of the opportunity to sell it to you, rather than taking a physical or digital object away from them, and opportunities are not considered property.
