How many hours have you been using a freedoms OS?
Me: 0. I'm gonna put Ubuntu onto my osx partition through parallels eventually..

Im gonna follow some tutorials from pic related before going to the Linux journey or wherever. Just to get muh feet wet.
I installed linux on my laptop last week, and removed it yesterday. Things went mostly fine hardware wise, but battery life was about 25% worse, and for some reason updates took a long time and would bog down the entire device.
The battery part was what made me remove it for good. I tried a bunch of stuff I found on google, but it never made a difference.

Long enough to hate it

While I'm coincidentally waiting for an ssd to arrive, that doesn't really fix anything. I will most likely still get better battery life on windows.
Right now I get about 6 hours on windows, so losing ~1:30 is just too much, particularly when I don't get anything special in return
