I had to RMA a 2 year old 2500k a few years ago. As soon as they received the old one they shipped out a brand new boxed chip no hassle at all. Took about 10 days as I had to ship it to the Netherlands (from UK).
Nope just woke the computer and it froze about 5 seconds later it turned off and wouldn't post. Just got a new motherboard thinking it was the issue and still no post. Assuming it's the cpu now.
