Planned obsolescence can suck it, never letting my Moto X die

My girlfriend is on her third Moto X. Her insurance still covers new ones.

Also >>55455212 is completely right. The battery life is utter garbage as is the brightness. She's always hogging my fucking USB cords to charge the damn thing.

Brightness levels actually did piss me off, for anyone wondering the damn thing is still bright at lowest levels. A custom ROM and some tuning can get you a good 4 hours or so, as well as dim the screen. It's a workaround, but this is the alternative thanks to Lenovo:

They'll stop optimizing drivers for new games on it. It's good as long as it gets the needed optimization for every single game, in terms of actual computing power, it's rather weak. It's still good, but for how long?

It's the Linux logo. Linux is a free (as in freedom) operating system that you can view the code of, redistribute, and study. Looking deeper, Linux's importance to the Web is even more extreme.
By W3Cook's analysis of Alexa's data, 96.3 percent of the top 1 million web servers are running Linux. The remainder is split between Windows, 1.9 percent, and FreeBSD, 1.8 percent.

Awful camera.
8GB internal space

Tiny-ass screen, typing was difficult even with manlet hands

Various other annoying shit.

Moto series really is nothing special.

>>55462272

Had one myself, thing wasn't too awful with CM and shit. Didn't mind the internal because of the SD slot and the RAM only became an issue a month or two before I got a new phone.

My Moto X Pure is doing really well tho.

Tho it's more due to me being too much of a shut in to make buying a smartphone worth it than any attachment to old tech.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Should have done better than it did against the iPod.

Too bad the software was shit at first and the lack of podcast support didn't help. Still, it had a radio and you could get it for 50 bucks cheaper at most places than the 30 GB iPod.
