I've experienced something similar with image editing programs. This seems more like Adobe's fault than Apple's fault but the Mac version of Photoshop doesn't allow navigating the top menu using only keyboard shortcuts (unlike the Windows version). Also using cmd instead of ctrl for the basic shortcuts is uncomfortable, but at least customization takes care of that. I'm not sure whether the mac versions of Wacom's tablet drivers are any more or less shitty though.

It's not that I hate the products, its that I hate the moral of the company.
They charge exorbitant prices for non-new gen hardware; in addition to that they also brand lock you into their own proprietary devices so you are forced to pay the price or go somewhere else.
If that wasn't a bad enough excuse, you now have the issue of dealing with a proprietary suite of OS's across all devices. Their operating systems make it difficult to customize, tweak and restrict you from being a power user. There's plenty you can do, being a POSIX compliant environment. But there's plenty you can't do as well. This is a pretty big con.
On top of this. You're again forced to use proprietary software in order to use the devices. It's not enough that you're forced to buy say an iPod or iPhone to run iOS. But they further it by forcing you to use iTunes in order to do anything besides calling people. They make it easy and enticing for people to switch into apple. But make it very hard to recover and go to another platform.
On top of it is the cherry: they are fully aware of the stigma of the iPhone. If you don't have an iPhone you're a broke nigga. They advertise it and shill it so that people want iphones and they try to make you feel bad or poor for not having one.
The products work as intended with little issues most of the time. But what they do is deplorable and I could never support it. I have friends with iphones but when they shrug all of my reasons off I honestly have a hard time looking at them the same way. Same with people who wear Nike and refuse to care that it's made by children in sweatshops overseas.
The actions of these companies should never be supported.

Apple employee here. I'm required to have an iPhone for work. I use an iPhone 4 that I downgraded to iOS 6 and jailbroke. There aren't any compatibility issues because I can spoof the iOS and device versions. Macs are pure shit. I'm also required to use one for work. The trackpad is awkward and it's just a mess. El captain is much much worse than Mavericks or Yosemite.
For personal use I have a Thinkpad T400 running Kubuntu 16.04. My personal phone is a Nexus 5 running CM13 with no Google apps. I use KDE connect to replicate some of the things that OSX and Windows are actually doing right.

I don't think anyone in my company uses homebrew, just having basic unix tools makes programming 20x better than on windows, and it werks out of the box unlike linux (which is the better OS especially for personalization and customizability, but we're in the business of making money)

Apple stuff is the best. I use my iPhone™ to take selfies infront of the uni building, read news on my iPad™ in the train and pullout my MacBook™ to take notes in class. Totally worth the jealous looks the poorfags give me. And its not like I am missing anything, I only need real computing power when I am at home and for that I reason I have a beefed up tower.
