how do I get the most of these things before its eats all my

how do I get the most of these things before its eats all my data? its my first dongle (had free internet til now so don't know much about managing my usage)

I know to avoid youtube/facebook/etc and turn off background apps and updates but is there anything else I can do?

even doing all these it still seems to gobble the credit up at a ridiculous rate

Adblocking, browser compression

not using cloud

not using WINDOWS 10 (will keep using data and getting updates even with that shit turned off).

Basically, only use android devices with AFWall+, or Linux OS because those are the only ones you can truly control data usage without getting fucked by botnet.
