Have you tried using the CopyTrans suite of software since you're an Apple software user? I've weaned people off Apple products (shuffle ipods iphones) by having them use CopyTrans instead. Might help get you away from iTunes or make life easier on Windows.

after leaving Windows I went from foobar2k to clementine, then later deadbeef. These days I mostly use mpd+ncmpcpp, or cmus in some cases. For some reason ncmpcpp freezes my term over ssh on a bunch of my computers. Haven't tried too hard to troubleshoot it since it works on my desktop and I'm usually just playing a few songs quick. mpv also works well for this. navigate the songs through ranger and open in mpv

hi OP, i've gone ahead and ignored the rest of the posts in this thread. Foobar2000 is great on windows once you install a few plugins and download a fake winamp directory for milkdrop2.
However, once you get out of windows you aren't as interested in crazy ridiculous resource intensive media players and visualizers. In fact I think the best visualizers don't really compare to a low resource CLI media player like ncmpcpp over mpd aesthetically. Give configs a chance. Give peace a chance. Hope i didn't step on anyones windtoes with this post.

I'm using Foobar2000 with columsUI and albumlist, sorting it by folder structure but when I select a folder on the left side all the songs show as selected on the right
