Is 4K OLED the endgame for TVs?
>>
>>55432002
A tv with a flawless panel is the endgame
>>
>>55432002
oled is shite.
and there aren't four thousand lines of pixels in 4k.. so that's a ripoff and false advertising right there

tl;dr you're retarded faggot who saves and posts retarded faggot shit.
>>
4K for TVs is dumb unless it's 75" or bigger. Unless you're in some tiny box apartment you sit 9 feet away from it. No need for that much pixel-density.

Nope. Humanity won't be content until 32K res TV screens, maybe 16K res screens.

Hell we're already seeing android phones with 4K screens. It feels outdated already.

>>

4k is more than just pixels. 4k blu-ray also has a better bitrate and better colour which will be noticeable no matter the distance.
>>
>>55433601
As for resolution, it's mostly a question of what field of view you want to cover.

Assuming a flat display,
... 4K achieves retina quality at around 58°
... 8K achieves retina quality at around 96°
... 16K achieves retina quality at around 131°

The human field of view is about 180° at its absolute limit. (For this you'd need a flat display of infinite size)

Once you start going significantly beyond 8K you need to start curving your display to avoid an exponential blowup (e.g. see IMAX which operates on ~12K but covers the whole visual field of view).

Also, as your resolution goes up, the efficiency drops exponentially - this is due to the fact that most of our visual perception is focused on the very central region (1-2°) of the retina, but most of the pixels in a large (8K or 16K) visual system are located in your peripheral vision.

To solve this in the general sense, you'd need to use a HMD with eye-tracking and only render/transmits those pixels you're actually looking at. This is impractical/impossible for pre-rendered films and TVs with multiple viewers, though.

if you set the scale so low everybody is kinda living the dream, like honestly get a steady regular job, live on your own and don't waste any big money (since the money is all yours, no need to share it) and just buy sometimes mangas, animes and figurines you will be surpised how much money you have left around after just 10 years of doing that

>>55434238

I don't keep track of his doing, I just watched the videos that were posted around three years ago (like that Ferrari pic)

just that you know, my guess is that he probably earns around 5500 to 6000francs per month (4000fr is the poverty line here mind you), and after paying the flat, food, taxes, transport etc he probably has around 700 to 1000francs saved per month, now if you spend genraly your money only one anime realted stuff, you most likely have still huge leftovers per month. But try to raise just one kid here and oh boy every down goes your spare money

Nips are already working on 8k for 2020 olympics or whatever.
> assuming huehue zika party this year doesn't cause the apocalypse
so, no.

Also, OLED is still shit that dies way too fast and can't be reasonably strobed for better motion clarity without cutting lifespan even faster.

Quantum Dot LED is potentially more promising in the future, but the manufacturing will be trickier, and the better molecules are made with libfag tear-inducing heavy metals apparently.

OLED is the final evolution of planned obsolescence. I had a Galaxy s6 that literally only lasted 6 months before the panel started getting burn in. The corporations love this of course. Buy a new phone, TV, monitor every single year! You don't want to be out of date, do you??

Investing for private persons is only worth it if you cheat and don't even try to beat the market. Just buy the entire fucking market, and keep buying every single month and never sell, and stop worrying. It doesn't matter if one company or even a country goes bankrupt if you have a well diversified portfolio.

Mid thirties requires you to save a bit more monthly but it's possible if you've got a well paying job and don't live in an insanely expensive area.

And the reason this is possible is that compound interest is one hell of a drug. The 20 years is calculated with less than 6% average return.

>>55443345
American based companies with good array of cheap ETFs include Charles Schwab and Vanguard. For Europeans check out iShares by Blackrock and X-trackers by Deutsche Bank. Iirc American ones pay out dividends because they aren't allowed to reinvest them directly while some European ones offer reinvesting the dividends automatically so you never handle them. Automatically reinvested dividends is better because you don't have to pay taxes on them now and can compound on those profits.

>>
With sample and hold, OLED will still have horrible motion blurring (Sony OLED PVM/BVM have scanning video mode: great motion quality, but LG or anyother OLED manufacturer will never used it in televisions).
16:9 is unusable aspect ratio, thus 3840x2160 is useless resolution.
>>
>>55443520
I don't actually plan on retiring that early and don't invest as aggressively. It's for eventual retirement and even more importantly for financial security. Just because you have enough money to never work again doesn't mean you can't work if you enjoy it. It just means you don't have to be worried about money and can take more time off.

Besides I literally don't have to do anything for this. The 15th of every month about 40% of my take home pay gets automatically used to buy the ETFs I've chosen. I don't have to do anything for this to happen. While 40% might seem quite high I'm in a relatively well paying job and still have plenty of money left over for my hobbies and fun.
>>
>>55443710
How do I do this? Assume I only know how to browse websites and send emails.
>>
>>55443759
Depends a lot on where you live. If you're American check out Charles Schwab and Vanguard. I'm not sure if you can do automatic monthly investing through them as I've never used them. Also ETFs are traded on the stock market so you could probably do it through your bank but that's most likely gonna be more expensive than companies who're solely focused on providing these services with minimum overhead.

When choosing an ETF make sure it is based on actual stock holdings and not on swaps of any kind. Shouldn't matter much but at least I personally feel a lot safer when the fund actually owns the stocks and there is no funky banker magic happening. Again for American the simplest choice is to take US total stock market ETF with the lowest expenses. Other one ETF choices would be S&P500 index based ETF or world stocks ETF if you want to diversify to the whole world.

4k isn't 4 thousand lines, it's 4 times hd, meaning double the vertical and double the horizontal. That resolution is ideal because it scales 1080 perfectly, as opposed to 720p content which has shitty upconverting to 1080
