Well /G/ it's here. The s7 edge FINALLY got root. Anyone here gonna join me and do it? Any one here done it and advise me not to? Thoughts
I'm able to get an upgrade right now and I really want this phone but don't know if I should wait for the Note 7.
Any help out there would be appreciated
>tfw was on the 'edge' whether i should return my s7 or not
>this pushed me to the not
feels good mang
>>55432059
the note is only one month away, why wouldnt you wait?
>>55432059
The note 7 WILL NOTHING be getting root as the inky way the s7 edge got root was through a leaked samsung boot/OS file with root allready a feature. The note 7 would need to have a leaked file as well. So if you want root s7 edge
>>55432116
Is the Note that much better?
>>55432126
Fuck auto correct.
*NOT
*ONLY
>>55432133
its got a stylus m8
>>55432133
Not really... Bigger screen... but this is my last samsung phone since just getting ROOT was fucking hell
>>55432126
Is root available on all versions of the S7 edge, like world wide?
>>55432094
Did you root your edge anon? I'm probably gonna do it but did you experience any problems or anything that would NOT want to make me root?
>>55432189
have vanilla s7, not yet but i'll check it out soon
>>55432166
The China variant, along with the eh European variant have unlocked bootloaders so yes. The US ones don't have unlocked bootloaders but yes we now have a root method... so yes EVERY s7 edge has root.. (That is until samsung pushes new type of s7 edge that doesn't work with the leaked file)
I guess root is not available on the at&t version
>>55432483
BUT IT IS.. the root that was released was made SPECIFICALLY for the Att version... you can thank samsung for leaking root files
What about a US verizon version s7 edge? I thought I read somewhere that it wasn't for verizon versions yet (I could be wrong though.)
I fucking hate verizon as a carrier, but they are literally the only ones I can get signal from around the places I frequent. Believe me, I've checked. If it wasn't for that, I'd drop them like a hot potato.
Someone please tell me it's possible to root it.
can the us cellular S7 non-edge be rooted?
>>55432126
More worried about the hardware they're gonna strip. My note 3 has an ir blaster and usb 3. New note prob won't have that, type c is not backward compatible with all my fucking cables but usb 3 was ffs.
>>55432799
They seem to all work, but I would wait since you can't read and may need more babbying than the typical.
>touchwizz
>>55432059
>upgrade
the carrier phones will likely still be locked down. you'd have to pay full price ($680 for the S7 $780 for the edge) to get the unlocked version directly from Samsung
so a carrier upgrade wouldn't get you a rooted S7
>>55433043
That's what I was looking for, thank you
>rooting a brand new phone
>>55433089
k normie
Droidfag here.. started w/ the 3 and have upgraded since. Never been disappointed with Samsungs products
>>55433089
What message are you trying to convey with this response??
>>55431990
>capital G in /g/
Lurk more, Pajeet.
Samsung makes the shittiest phones, stick with Sony if you want to spend your money on something that's actually good for that kind of money.
>>55431990
Wait what? I've had root on my s7 Edge like a month or so after it launched. How's this taken so long for the rest of the world.
(AusFag here)
>not waiting for the S8
>>55433747
>its a wait for the next generation episode
shouldn't you be in the nvidia and amd threads?
>>55433795
We're talking about cellphones, not monitors. Try to keep up, anon.
>>55433089
>buying a new phone with touchwizz and no apparent root or bootloader unlock on the horizon
I've had root since release faggots. Posting from it now.

It's your role as a consumer to upgrade as often as possible anon.
