I don't really understand S.M.A.R.T. values that well. How much more life do you think I can get out of this?
>>55429633
probably 5 more years, unless the mechanical part shits the bed
>>55429633
>80 power-on hours
>174 reallocated sectors
>199 uncorrectable sector count
did you buy a chink knockoff drive from Worston Dogital?
>>55429677
Oh, I got trolled by the the stupid “current” conversions.
The raw values:
>15089 power on hours
>207 reallocated sectors
>325 uncorrectable sectors
If you love your data... get a new disk. I assume that you have have regular backups as well, right?
>>55429633
How's my driving?
>>55429745
food
>>55429677

It was an external hard disk that I stopped using because of bad sectors, then I lost the housing and adapter for it. I just put it internally about 10 minutes ago. Is there any dangers in doing that? Added stress that will make it worse?
>>55429737
It was blank, I had moved everything off it a while back when I first noticed it. Right now im copying some tv shows to test it out and see if the sector allocation gets worse in a few days.
1 hour or 10 years. Who the fuck knows.
>>55429745
What software are you using, i hate Crystal mark.
>>55429889
I recommendsmartctl -x
What does this mean?!
>>55429889
>i hate Crystal mark.
You need to read the values, they're all the same
>>55429970
>CrystalDiskShit Weeb Edition
It means you belong on >>>/v/
>>55429633
Replace it today, not tomorrow.

I did a reset and came back to this, uh oh guys
>>55430371
Go and buy yourself another drive and backup everything now. It looks like it is about to kick the bucket.
The ultraDMA was caused because of a bad sata cable
>>55430326
>>55430392
Thanks for the concern guys, but I've actually already done that.
>>55430439
How did you manage to get only 15k hours? Did you dropped it?
>>55429677
WD > Seafail
Fuck off
>>55430461
I don't think so, might have just left it on too much? Not sure if you're supposed to do that with external drives. What's funny is the label said "Enterprise Storage"
>>55430508
>might have just left it on too much
I don't think so, you turned on your pc almost 2x times compared to mine
>>55430371
it's odd
>>55430508
There's something about external drives that hate being left on in my experience.
Better to only plug them in when you are using and disconnect after.
>>55429633
It's dead.
>>55429970
This is probably fine. A weak sector can just happen. I have a Caviar Blue that's been sitting at 4 uncorrectable/2 pending since I got it a year ago, and shuffling blurays to and from it for encoding hasn't move that one bit.
>>55430501
>WD > Seafail
Ok.
>>55430635
>only 28k power on hours
How'd I do lads ?
>>55430501
>post didn't criticize WD
>entire post didn't even mention seagate
uh... okay?
