Is there a flashlight app for Android that doesn't destroy battery life?
>>
>>55428073
The ones that aren't malware
>>
>>55428104
Not a helpful answer.

Could you give examples?

Check F-Droid apps?
Write your own?

can i ruin all the posts without having the captcha?
can i shoop all da whoops without using da whoops?

>Check F-Droid apps?
I did. I used Torchie and it killed my battery life. Even when it wasn't on it consumed so much battery life.
>>

this.
seriously, people this retarded do exist?

How is it that battery intense though? I only activate it maybe once every 1-2 days.

ayy lmao

why does a flashlight app need to run in the background
>>

Yea, why? Is it something related to the hardware?

Yes but I hardly use it.

Using flash photography doesn't destroy my battery anywhere near as quick.
>>
>How is it that battery intense though? I only activate it maybe once every 1-2 days.
it's because of how the androids builtin battery manager object works and how the apps are able to interact with it. without being able to keep a constant connection to the instance of that object they could lose the ability to call on it. google was originally able to bypass this but they removed their builtin flashlight app in 1.6 donut because they didn't want something builtin draining battery.

It's just an LED (or two). The screen alone is a lot more battery intense.

Don't fall for these memes. There's a built in one in most phones, or at least I think so, check your widgets. If it drains 1% in less than 5 minutes you probably either have a bad battery or a bad flashlight.

Mine is 4.4.2 and also has one.

On my Android if I pull down from the top screen that shows notifications, then I pull down on that again , there is a built-in flashlight button
>>
>>55431415
Why not both?

I think my watch looks pretty nice but I actually do use it to check the time on a frequent basis.

>>55431533
I prefer not to have to take my phone out of my pocket and put it back in every time I want to check the time. Plus there are times when I'm at home and don't have my phone on me or have immediate access to a clock (e.g. sitting on the toilet and wondering what time it is).

>>55431552
I do also have a dumbphone.
>>
>>55431415
What's wrong with carrying a flashlight when using a phone's flashlight dramatically drains the battery? Surely you want to use your phone longer for other purposes if battery life is an issue.

Am I being baited?
>>
>>55431624
Also a good flashlight will do the job of a flashlight far better than a phone's flash LED.

Read the fucking OP. The topic of this thread. It's not about my phone. His phone is dying when he uses his flashlight and a $5 dedicated flashlight is the solution to his problems.

I doubt it. I imagine they all have the same basic function (light on/off)with the only differences being GUI.
All going to sap battery.

Come the fuck on, you know what that guy meant. Most flashlight apps are bloated with unnecessary features, and have ads.

But wait, OP.. If you're using an modern version of Android, you should have a torch toggle in the notification drawer.
