carryover would be interesting since verizon straight up said they didnt care about trying to match other providers like 6 months ago.

i pay $70 total a month after taxes and shit for 3gigs and the usual unlimited calls and text, i dont give a shit 1 extra gig i would rather just keep that $5

That's terrible bandwidth and Boost has no fucking coverage.

Is there unlimited data and contracts for the rest of the country? Here in Pennsylvania we've already started all of this shit over a year ago.

We haven't had unlimited data in god damn a decade dude. We've had increased data prices for 2-3 years minimum.

However we don't have roll over.

T. Verizon customer for last 16 years
>>

Literally how? Those speeds are achieved even AFTER I've used over 100GB of data. How much do you think Verizon would charge for using just 100GB of data? $400? $800? lmao

16Mbps is HSPA tier. That's how. Doesn't matter how much data you have used and I'm not talking about Verizon, either.

That's cute, but no, I live in Los Angeles and, previously, in the NYC metro area. Sprint's coverage, especially indoors, was fucking garbage.

Very true.

All you fags on Tmobile and Sprint have no idea how bad you have it.

Aren't they limited to 8Mbps? Last I heard AT&T had to set that bandwidth limit because too many customers were complaining about LTE not working at all.

Verizon LTE goes up to like 50Mbps so 8Mbps seems really really fucking slow in comparison.

Not supporting either company by the way, unlimited high speed LTE for at least $60/month without contract or family plans or GTFO.

Those are for the Data Plans

You pay 40$ a month for your phone. Then you pay 15$ a month for insurance
THEN you buy a data plan, which would be an extra 110$ a month.
Then add in hidden fees and taxes.

I was on my parents verizon plan until a few months ago. Its just so not worth it.

That is literally untrue. We lowered the line access to $20 to facilitate device payment. Even if you do not upgrade or bring your own device. You still get line access of $20 on the new plans.

$11 a month for Asurian not $15

This is actually one of the most level headed posts I've seen.

I know Verizon is high priced. I know we are not the best option for every single customer. I know you can get away with a fraction of the bill and get good service in your very specific area. I know we could lower prices and I could personally recommend people to go online to buy cases and speakers for pennies on the dollar.

Point is that takes a lot of know how and effort and extra energy. People will pay a premium for "the best" even if they don't need it. Fact remains we are funneling all our extra dosh into enhancing our network while everyone else is still playing catch up years behind. That is why Verizon will remain top dog.
>>
>>55402168
Wireless data caps shouldn't exist AT ALL. Fact is mobile carriers can easily output over 100 Mbps on each LTE tower they have 24/7 with 0 problems. The problem is QoS when there us high network load. Companies like Sprint and T-mobile have improved their QoS algorithms enough to the point where everyone can get unlimited high speed lte @ ~8-16 thus pretty much confirming wireless data caps are a huge fucking meme.
>>
>>55402200

Have you the knowledge on how to generate it?

Do you have the infrastructure to supply it once it is generated?

Do you have the means to coordinate the supply and funnel it to the customer?

Do you have the people in place to expand and maintain it as well as develop future projects?

Hmm lets do the math..
> @ ~8-16
if its 8 then 12.5 users
if its 16 then its 6.25 users

You see how easy it is to bring that single tower down to a crawl for everyone connected to it ?
>inb4 those are all heavy users
How many times does it get posted here that anon that uses uses 100+ gigs per month tethering their phone.

All I am saying is that is limited in nature.
Maybe a better solution would be pricing that goes up as your data usage goes up

>0 to 999mb costs $5
>1gb to 1.99gb costs 10 (on top of your previous tier)
>2gb to 2.99gb costs $15 (on top of your previous tier)
>3gb to 3.99 costs $20 (on top of your previous tier)

So a person using 2.5GB could incur a cost of $30
The person that uses 750mb would cost $5
I'm sure you could tweak the data cost between each tier as needed too.
>>

People put a lot of damn money into making these networks. They aren't going to just do everything at cost out of the goodness of their hearts.
>>
>>55402381
>All I am saying is that is limited in nature.
This is true but it can be rationed.

>Maybe a better solution would be pricing that goes up as your data usage goes up
No this is fucking retarded because a even better solution already exists and that is QoS. De-prioritize the bandwidth of data-heavy users to 8-16 Mbps temporarily if the network undergoes heavy load and keep the network speeds as high as possible for light data users.

For example:

There are 20 users connected to a single tower. 1 of them is downloading hundreds of chinese cartoon torrents at once. Throttle this cunt to 8 Mbps if there are other people connected to the tower else give him the full 100 Mbps so he can fuck off faster if there are no other people connected to the tower.

Very simple and efficient solution that has been practiced since forever by Sprint and T-mobile. The only reason they have plans with data caps is to encourage users to pay the premium price for unlimited high speed data eventually.

250GB of data on anything isn't a whole hell of a lot. Homr use you have console networks selling digital games that eat 20-60GB initially without updates and DLC. Wireless you have OTA updates games and apps not to mention videos that easily run half a gig or over a gig in size just streaming them. Data is data caps are stupid and the only thing that should be in place are actual abusers and QoS

Yeah they are not fully fledged computers that can run the desktop version of photoshop or other useful desktop programs but blame ARM for that. Phone manufacturers fell for the ARM meme and now were paying the price for it.

Hopefully intel will lower the price of Core-M processors so we can see them on phones soon. Maybe have a thing where the phone dual-boots into Android and a desktop version of windows.

That plan is dirty as hell. I internally cringe when I see it.

Go to a store and see what your usage is. If you are under a gig then the $30 1gb plan will save you about $20 shekels right there. If you really rub up to that 2gb then $45 3GB plan still is cheaper.

The lines will be $40 a month to "pay off" the phone's contract pricing. After they leave contract they will each drop $20.

So
>1GB $70 for overall bill
>3GB $85 for overall bill

Sorry if they didn't explain it correctly. We can move you to the new plan at any time regardless of contract. The rep might have been new or an asshole.

Go and get that change NOW. The old More Everything plans didn't automatically discount for being out of contract. They will stay at $40 until you upgrade.

The new plans will be $20 instantly even if you keep your old phone.

Previouly I bought 10 GB data plan for $10, no time limit.

Bought 5 more 10 GB vouchers with no time limit.
I can buy $0.20 voucher to increase my active period for 4 months.

$10 for 10 GB (3G only)
$0.6 for additional active period (1 year)

I only use that for BBM and WhatApp.

I'll give you a bit of advise.

Don't go in and just ask "How can I get my plan down as cheap as possible?"

Some reps, I do not, will dance around or pretend you'll "get a better value on your current plan once you upgrade". Since you get a bit more of a discount for doing device payment on the older plans. The reason was the older plans are more expensive then the current ones.

Anyways recognize reps in stores are salesmen first and will not always be looking to get you the best deal. Since the monthly discount IS there to offset the cost of upgrading.

Buy a case or screen protector or express interest in upgrading soon but want to change plans now.

Most will be honest outright no matter what but as someone who has made my bones in this world I can tell you. Commission driven people will try to prevent you from getting what is yours out of spite if you slight them. It is ugly and wrong but that is what you get when you impose quotas on the people who doing customer service.

If you are an authorized user you can make plan changes.

They can add you by dialing 611 from their devices or ask for a "Retail secure pin" to the account owner's line. It allows people who are not authorized previously to make a change by sending a scrambled text to the main line's number.

Yeah the secure pin is only in corporate locations in person. I like dosh and will try to convert saving into new devices but there are some accounts that are simply paying far too much because the owner is an older person. Who doesn't keep up or think to check on new plans.

Those are the people I try to help out the most. Older folks that would be fleeced if they didn't have younger family members looking out for them.

I need someone to explain something to me.

Currently I have the verizon 3GB plan. I'm paying $45 base fee, then $31 for "Smartphone Line Access". This includes the $5 a month they are adding due to the android I have, which is not that big of a model (It says it has 8 GB of data, but it reserves over half of that for the phone, and leaves me with like only 2 GB for free storage. I was pissed as fuck).

I changed from T Mobile, which was $40 a month, because it would give me more area coverage and I can use it more places. That did help me, but I don't feel like I use my phone enough for it to cost $76 a month. Im thinking of going down to the $30 1 GB plan, but it's only a $15 difference. I'll still be paying at least $60 bucks.

I wish T-Mobile had an all data plan.
Since everyone messages/calls me on normie messenger I hardly ever use the phone or the messaging app. That and Wi-Fi calling on the iPhone. Fucked minutes and messages.

Ah yes it is a month to month contract
>>
>>55404196
Yeah it is a cheap one. 4-5ish dollary doo.

You are right around the low end of cost if you want 3 gb of data. You could lower it $15 shekels if you drop to 1 gb but otherwise it all seems green.
>>
>>55404208
I always feel like I dont do enough to use 1 GB. Last time I did, I was stupid and left my wifi off. Now I barely touch 1 GB of use.

different guy here, if I am already paying for two phones, and two tablets with 18GB plan, would it cost anything to move two more phones onto the 18GB plan? is there some sort of initial fee?
>>
>>55404220
We can see last 3 months in store. Get you a straight answer.

>>55404230
No transfer of service fee. Perhaps a bit of wonky billing the first month due to prorated fees..

18 GB means you're on the current plans so each new device would be $20.

$40 if they are still in contract.

If they are doing the month to month device payment it would be $20+$Whatever their device payment is.

>Aren't they limited to 8Mbps? Last I heard AT&T had to set that bandwidth limit because too many customers were complaining about LTE not working at all
Not in the city at the moment, but still get decent enough speed.

ooh gotcha, thanks

as long as my unlimited data with verizon is unaffected i give 0 shits.
i dont even use that much (about 50gb-70gb a month) but its much faster than dsl at home so i prefer using it if i need to download media or games
even if they raised the price for unlimited users again id be ok with it because i know i cant get this kind of service from any other carrier

He's from San Diego, for the life of me I can't recall his trip. He posts all the time in tpg and has an ungodly number of thinkpads. He works at a recycler, so he has his run of the place.

>$15USBUX for a gig of "boost" data

ahahahaha

telstra, australia charges 7.5USD per gig of "boost" data.

You know you're getting royally fucked when the most expensive telco in australia is half the price.
>>
>>55404560
Yet half your country is cucked by albos and spiders

Even without a flag I can still tell you're a shitposter.
>>
>>55404560

...yeah, but telstra charges 35$ for 0.5 GB, which is several times worse than the absolute worst deal on this verizon "leak", so what the fuck is your point even
>>
Well fuck. I work at a Verizon retailer (A Wireless) and they're making us relearn this garbage again? The fucking trainings they send us to are going to make me want to claw my eyes out.
>>
>>55404478
Actually. None of those are safe to buy and the people selling them are retarded. Verizon removed the ability to perform an Assumption of Liability (change an account from one person's credit to anothers) a couple months ago.

Trust me I know, otherwise I would have bought a shitton of my customers lines
