Intel processors are sending information through your firewall, they have a cpu core dedicated to remote access.

most of them work for the government.

Example, Corey Barnhil, who claims to be a government employee, yet goes by xyrix or zoom, and his girlfriend tabyart confirmed him to be a pedophile who likes really fresh pizza.

his friends also work for the government, and his linkedin profile confirms he works at a government contractor.

Intel Management Extensions. They're supposed to allow IT departments to gain low level access to machines equipped with it. It's basically supposed to be a fancier version of WOL, but for the entire internet. It's also super expensive and I do not know of any organization that actually purchases the software to fully utilize it.

You'd have to identify the IP address of the victim and physically install a special piece of software onto the victim's machine. Yeah, they are probably totally doing that, but it doesn't automatically enable a hole out of the factory.

WTF is this shit? Is this for real? They have such a monopoly that they can add another CPU inside the CPU which not only means it's a huge gaping NSA security hole, but also a subpar CPU compared to what it can be?

How will I ever be able to use Intel again?

Please tell me this shit isn't real.

>>
>>55402029
this
even the NSA (the KING of spying on people) can't reliably catch anyone that's not threatening national security simply because of the performance requirements needed to handle that much data

if you're acting normally (basically not looking up the sort of shit terrorists normally would) everything you do gets deleted after a few seconds, and if you act like a terrorist you'll get assigned to an agent who will look at what you're doing and either escalate it or just write it off (aka 99.98% of people who get that far)

the only time you should be scared of the NSA is when they're doing something for someone else, and at that point your absolute best bet is to run like fuck physically and hope they can't accurately track you in meatspace

The best way to disable any access to Intel AMT is a setup it at some fake Intel MPS server. ;) In that case all AMT ports are blocked by Intel AMT firmware and anyone can't use them (as well in the local network and moreover remote).

So from what I can tell, this entire fiasco is basically some blogger who was clearly ignorant of how enterprise management features that have been present in hardware for *years* having an "OMG YOU TRANSMIT YOUR IP ADDRESS TO THE WORLD EVERY TIME YOU GO TO A WEBSITE!!" moment.
And it wasn't even that original since the same damn hissy fit gets thrown every year or so as memory serves, since this is by no means the first time I've heard the conspiracy theory.
So, either this guy is an idiot (not discounting that at all) or he managed to troll people into generating clicky clicky ad revenue by recycling conspiracy theories. Some of the people being trolled might be willing participants to boot.

>Libreboot has support for fam15h AMD hardware (~2012 gen) and some older Intel platforms (~2006-2009 gen). We also have support for some ARM chipsets (rk3288). On the Intel side, we're also interested in some of the chipsets that use Atom CPUs (rebranded from older chipsets, mostly using ich7-based southbridges). We're also interested in PowerPC (POWER8 and POWER9, or OpenPOWER) which Raptor Engineering Inc. is looking into.

>What about ARM? #arm
>Libreboot has support for some ARM based laptops, using the Rockchip RK3288 SoC. Check the libreboot hardware compatibility list, for more information.

>>
>>55401205
>Intel processors are sending information through your firewall, they have a cpu core dedicated to remote access.
Not my hardware firewall.
>>
>>55406476
because it looks like wanted traffic. Your ISP copies all your traffic and because the cpu is working to give root access to the machine they can bypass encryption.
>>
>>55406484
yes, the point of the backdoor is to give them root access to the machine, the isp does the rest of the work. Even if you don't see the data being sent, it is being copied.

Prism, also programs like google analytics, windows update etc, can send data to their servers that looks like normal network traffic.

>>

>>
>>55406532
You can make a nuclear disaster from smoke detectors though.

There was a kid in America who used hundreds of old smoke detectors to make a miniature nuclear reactor which required a proper cleanup crew to deal with.
>>
>>55406651
you can make an atom bomb from old smoke detectors easily.
>>
>>55406604
whatever helps you sleep at night

if windows updater, or google chrome, or any of the other hundreds of spyware installed onto your system is allowed to pass through your hardware firewall, then the traffic isn't blocked.

Anything that you allow through the firewall can be used to send the data, because the processor allows remote ADMINISTRATOR access.
>>
>>55406694
Do you even know what a hardware firewall is?
>>
>>55406815
do you even own know that cisco, hauwei, ruckus, and every firewall made has no way of stopping the backdoor?

Are you this mentally retarded, do you actually believe a firewall is going to stop your computer from giving remote access, when the very cpu was built from the ground up to provide remote access?

Do you think the iranians or russians didn't think of this brilliant firewall scheme?
>>
>>55406922
>what is MIPS, power, or any other architecture
If you aren't stupid, yes, you can block this shit, and with heterogenous architectures, you can keep your hardware from ignoring your instructions and passing stuff anyway (a la IME and W10).
The Russians are pushing to move to ARM64, and have been dumping money into pretty much any open OS & hardware that comes their way.
>>
>>55407186
we are talking about x86 in this thread monkey.
>>
>>55406922
>do you actually believe a firewall is going to stop your computer from giving remote access
Yes, because that is exactly what a firewall is for.
>>
>>55407208
I know. You want to deal with an x86 backdoor? use something that x86 instructions are useless on. If you want to keep your facebook machine from receiving IME instructions from the internet, you use a hardware firewall that can in no way be compromised by it.
>>
>>55407277
