just installed ESXi on my home "server" (beefy desktop),

just installed ESXi on my home "server" (beefy desktop), what distro to manage my media?

thinking maybe windows for active directory stuff. blow me away

Out of curiosity. Why ESXi for a home server? I thought the benefits only really made sense for if you're running multiple servers.

functionality, resource management, learning...

most importantly, ease of control.

I put in ESXi flash drive, install, it spits out IP, then I never need to physically touch it again, can unplug monitor.

Neat. I have my router on an esxi box. I use the other to host game servers.
