I also had to buy the Xeon and 771 mod sticker for $30, at 1080p the CPU is the obvious bolttleneck but at 1440p the bottleneck shifts between the CPU and GPU and I assume this rig performs about the same as the more expensive builds with a 970 at 1440p.

Might as well ask here. Been working out some budget, and a new rig is out of my grasp for at least a year. I was looking at upgrading my graphics card to a gtx 980ti, but having trouble deciding which manufacturer to go with. Also, should I get another 8 GB or RAM, or would I still be good?

Be aware that with the recently released 1080,1070, and RX 480 graphics card prices are in flux. You could easily end up paying old retail prices for a card that just isn't worth that anymore, especially with an old halo card like the 980Ti. Don't pay more than $400 for one, and you're probably best off getting a GTX 1070 once you find someplace that has one in stock.

The rest of your rig is fine.

If i were you, i would keep your current setup and only upgrade Graphics card and add a SSD/ 3TB HDD

Yeah I was originally just going to pop an rx 480 in, but my CPU bottlenecks hard in GW2 and ESO, so I figured I'd upgrade that as well, which requires a MoBo upgrade, and etc etc etc. In the end I'm selling my current rig to some dummy for $600 and getting this one for about $850.

I know this isn't the right thread but I would like some help if possible, I have a tight budget and I really need help deciding with an intel i3 6100 or an amd fx 6300.

Its giving me nightmares deciding about this.

Heres what I like to do mostly: playing a game/watching a stream the fx6300 since it has more cores it sounds better for this but I read benchmarks and it gets completely destroyed by the i3, but will the 2 cores be a huge restraint?
>>
>>55416638
Save a few more autismbux and get an i5 6400.

What depresses me about speccy threads is that everyone's rig always looks almost exactly the same because people here are tech enthusiasts.

But imagine how wonderfully diverse the results would be if regular people posted in speccy threads. There would be all kinds of interesting systems instead of endless core i7 2000gb ram, ssd boot drive, 5000TB storage drive, gayming video card

Only fuckup is the meme motherboard.
There are cheaper alternatives that have the same feature set and same level of heatsinks, VRMs, chokes, etc.
