Screen-Size ratio is rather bad.

Why nobody goes the LG G2 way? Even though it featured a 5,2'' screen, it was so handy.

Camera is not really good compared with the S7 and lacks many options.

Battery life is more than just mAh count, some phone needs more because they may be using a less efficient screen, circuits, processors etc. Literally sky and earth the difference of battery life between the Xperias Z1 and Z3 eventhough their batteries are about the same.

Bought a T-Mobile LG V10 on eBay for $220.
Just got it all set up,rooted, bootloader unlocked and SIM unlocked.
>Pros:
God-tier headphone output from ESS Sabre DAC and headphone Amp
Good camera with RAW and manual settings (Camera2 API)
Good build quality though probably not very water resistant

>Cons:
Very meh battery life so far
LCD backlight is somewhat uneven
Performance is actually below Snapdragon 805/801 phones which is pretty sad..

Luckily the two main things I do use my phone for are music and camera so I'm not too disappointed.
Came from a Note 4 which unfortunately met it's end in a toilet.

Fucking shit. Literally ad-infested so you will have 0 privacy and almost a 100% you will never be able to root it. That's not even the worst part. The worst part is it has a shitty SoC with horrible single-thread performance and only 4 CPU cores can be used at the same time. Overall just a terrible phone. Dad wants to buy a Samsung J7, most he wants to spend is $250. Anything better for the budget? He primarily wants a large, higher resolution screen and battery for reading news articles, essentially a replacement for his broken 7" tablet. In fact he told me that if there was a 7" or 8" screen phone, he'd buy it.

Basically I'm trying to dissuade him from buying an underpowered phone (further bogged down by touchjizz) with a shitty low resolution when I'm certain that he can do much better for the price.

so there basically isn't an upgrada for 1st gen Moto G?

Battery life as long as it's 3-5 hours or better with SOT doesn't matter much provided you have quick charge. I have a QC car charger and home charger and it's really not a huge deal for daily use. My Zenfone 2 and ZTE Zmax 2's charge 0 to full in about an hour and the Moto X I have went from 0 to 60% in like twenty or thirty minutes then slows down some.
>>
>>55401197
I can only speak of a 3 year owner of the Nexus, it was the best phone until the inevitable powerbutton loop happened.
If you can deal with this risk, go for it. It was the best phone I've ever owned- fast, quick updates, decent battery life, easy to root if necessary
>>
Are there any methods for bypassing t mobile tether limit? I keep seeing WiFi tether router recommended everywhere even though it doesn't work. Spoofing the user agent doesn't work anymore either.

Do you have a carrier branded device with no root etc? I have stock ZF2 rom no root and I never hit a tether limit. It's carrier unlocked though as purchased. My ZTE Zmax 2's were ATT go phones that are unlockable yet require the ATT sim for reliable firmware updates and include tethering limitations carrier specific to the launcher it's sold with.

RIP lil buddy.

Yea I didn't like the 5x and the 6p although looks good on paper didn't seem worth it (((Huawei))). I ended up picking up a couple Moto X's instead for 200 and 300 a couple months apart (16GB internal). I tried to wait out the entire generation of 808/810 devices as I didn't like any of them except the LG V10 which was way too pricey and the LG G4 which seemed like a toss up for a bootloop issue due to hardware. Moto X so far despite the crappy chipset has a superb camera and couldn't be happier.
>>
>>55401492
>>55401451
Nexus 4 was my first smartphone and it sucks because I'm still kind of new to the whole smartphone thing. Really loved it but I dropped it a couple of days ago and while I got no cracks the liquid screen was completely wrecked and now half the screen is dead to touch sensitivity. Had it for nearly four years so I guess I did pretty alright with it.

Been hearing mixed things about the Nexus 5 and the only reason I considered it was because it was the next step from a Nexus 4. Friend sent me a link to the Moto G4 though and I like the price of that for a new phone but hearing about the buyout kind of puts me on edge.
>>
>>55401575
Moto X Pure as there are different years just to be clear.
>>
>>55401571
T-Mobile must have a way of tracking your usage. I might get away with it some since Asus Zenfone 2 isn't exactly a popular or well known device. That or you just use it much more than I do but I have five leeches (kids) that tether constantly with tablets and grew up on Youtube and the like.
>>
why wont the oneplus faggots put a microsd slot in their phones?
>>
I bought two ZTE ZMax 2's might buy another three as they're like 60 bucks US and just put them on the family plan at TMO as it's cheap. Why bother with tablets at this point. 120 or so for 4 lines at TMO 6GB 150 I think for unlimited.
>>
>>55401651
They did. In the OnePlus X. Then promptly discontinued that phone
>>
>>55401668

>>
>>55401630
It doesn't make sense how they are tracking it. I've been on t mobile since 2013 though so maybe they know my usage patterns.
>>
>>55401727
They must be getting the mac address or something and know the device profile. Quite likely if you have the My tmobile app or something.
>>
>>55401742
I don't use the mytmobile tethering app, just the stock android built in one. I also have wifi tether router, which doesn't help as mentioned earlier. My online t mobile account has my device registered as a nexus 4 if it means anything. But i tethered freely for 2 years like that before they start throttling me.

>>
>>55401863

>>
>>55401979
