Why have you never gotten a smart phone?

Piss poor battery life and botnet.

Because everyone I know uses whatsapp to communicate nowadays, so I just grabbed a 70€ one.
I tried one a few years ago but I didn't like it. I just use my cell phone to call my mom so I really don't need many features.
I wouldn't have one if Verizon's selection of basic phones wasn't so shit.
I don't like computers.
I make phone calls with my phone. I do not wish to charge my phone every single day.

I had a smart phone but went back to a dumb phone.
>smart phones come loaded with spyware and bloatware in the form of Gapps and carrier specific garbage that can't be deleted without rooting your phone or installing a custom ROM which may not be available
>rooting your phone isn't an answer as having password free root access is a security risk
>manufacturers/carriers drop support for phones quickly and stop pushing security updates
>software available generally has less features compared to desktop/laptop versions
>Android is set up to fill your RAM with garbage that you don't use, resulting in constant paging and tabs refreshing each time you go between them which makes using it unenjoyable (don't know if Cyanogenmod or other Android alternatives can fix this)
>small software keyboards are shit for typing out posts on 4chan
>the extra battery life and smaller size in my pocket of a dumb phone is also nice, but I'd ignore that if the other problems didn't exist
I keep an old netbook around for anything I'd use a smartphone for over a regular phone and it's significantly more enjoyable to use to (to the point where I have no problem using it in place of my desktop for a few days if necessary). Sure there are some times that I miss having the functionality with me at that moment but those times are getting rarer. Also, my netbook can run Touhou and a smartphone can't.
