Does /g/ have any experience with Sager laptops? I'm looking for something around $1000 that's got the best hardware for the price, and I was surprised at the specs on the cheaper Sager models. Is there some sort of catch/tradeoff, or am I better suited buying a different laptop?

You gals should check out the Sager 5791, $2300, Games on medium laptop. It will play most games on medium without much lag.

The drive is complete trash, but for like 120$ you can replace it with an SSD. Otherwise looks pretty good spec wise, id go for it.
Do you really need an optical drive though?

it's a fucking monster, has a nice ass (big exhaust vents), and stays cool and quiet.
Doesn't look very thick so cooling is probably a bit of an issue like most gaming laptops, will probably need proper maintenance (cleaning out with air duster) and changing of thermal paste every year or so. and even then it could fail after two years or so just because the heat over time tends to fuck things up in the smaller gaming laptops.
