I'm currently looking to buy a GTX 1080. I've read that the asus strix version has a completely fanless mode while under light load; are there any other GTX 1080 versions that share this property?

You're doing a top notch job here, Rajesh!
I will make sure you'll get a 50 rupee monthly raise!

Fans turning off in idle has been common for a few years now in many cards. I know for sure that MSI at least does this as well since the 770 or earlier.

Almost all of them have fanless modes at idle. The MSI Gaming X and Gainward Phoenix are the quietest models. The fans on both only get up to ~1000RPM at full load. The ones on the Strix get up to ~2000RPM under the same conditions. It's not a contender for quietest.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'm gonna go with the MSI gaming X in that case.
