Hey /g/, starting college next year looking for advice on whether to get a laptop of a surface pro 4
Depends. While digitizers have come an impressively long way, I'm still not sold on doing anything more than quick jotting on a hard screen. I'll admit that I know a couple people who love it, though.
If you're not going to fall for that meme then it's probably best to just pick up a laptop with the best battery life you can get.

Get a laptop. Seldom use my sp4.

It's the opposite for me. I got a used SP2, and I use it much more than my laptop because the Surface is about half the weight.

Not that Anon, and only speaking from personal experience, but the weight issue seems to tip right around the 3.5-4.0 lbs. range for me. Anything lighter is all the same in the "I don't even notice it" zone while anything heavier is "lugging this thing around" territory. Plenty of laptops can be picked up under 3.5 lbs. though. I suspect your experience might have more to do with a particularly heavy laptop than a 2 lbs. SP2.
