750 ti was great for people on a budget who could just grab a workstation or prebuilt and slap this in without worrying about a new psu. At the time it could handle just about every game on high settings, but now you'd need to step most new ones down to medium or low I think.

Is a GTX 950 or 960 a good jump up from this card? I'm still rocking my GTX 285, but I'm worried about my i7 920 stock 2.67 GHz bottlenecking something. I'm too scared to get a 970, let a lone a 1060/70 for this reason.

Believe me, I've tried. Can't even do the 'default' overclocks with a big fan blowing into the side window for longer than a few minutes. It also doesn't help that I live in a desert climate, and it's summertime, and I'm using an old mATX case with bad airflow (one 90mm intake fan, one 60 mm exhaust fan, stock intel cooler). In fact, right now all the cores are between 77-82 degrees on idle. I don't have much room for OCing anything.

You need to go turn off driver updates. Uninstall all your existing drivers, and then do a clean install of the latest drivers.

when i set the grass on i can see a slight decrease on the fps from 61 to 60
