What are the best paid Android apps on the Play store? I have some credit I want to spend.

Pocketcast is great if you are into men talking.

Poweramp is a must have until the foobar app gets better.
>>
>>55350580
I already have Poweramp and I totally agree. It's one of the few apps I've paid for
>>

Smart Launcher Pro
C.f.Lumen
Lightning Pro

A whole lot of other shit I can't remember because I am drink
>>
>>55350591
In that case I would recommend downloading something like nova launcher prime or chrooma keyboard. They are fun to tinker with but I can't think of anything else worth wasting money on
>>

>tasker
>titanium backup
>Nova prime
>Zooper pro

Nova prime is a good idea. I use the free version but I didn't think of getting the paid version. I'll look into that and see if it comes with anything extra I care about. Thanks for the rec

poweramp
shuttle+

some icon packs. cryten for example
nova+
klwp+
gsam+

and you can always just buy music or movies or something

It's like you hate music.

I have only paid for Poweramp and Runtastic

Nova prime is currently on sale right now for 0.99$ or maybe even cheaper depending on where you live. I would suggest buying it soon
>>
>>55350515
What's great about it? AntennaPod seems better and is open source.
>>
>>55350143
Nova Launcher Prime 99 cents is a great deal for a great launcher (was on sale recently). Textra is a nice messaging/sms/mms app that even has a built in workaround for troublesome carriers with APN including Tmobile wifi calling fixes. Basic apps like that that are somehwat cheap and deserve to put above the typical Google drivel or other mass shovelware in the Android ecosystem.

Neutron

As some who lives on podcasts, and wants to support free software, it isn't better.

Pocketcasts is more polished, really does the better with some hiccups here and there. AntennaPod is alright, but has slightly more hiccups so i can't bring myself to switch to it fulltime again.

A f-droid issue make me lose my 100+ episode playlist, so moved back after that. Wasn't fair to AP, but oh well.
>>
>>55351426
I get it that it's largely subjective, but I've been using AntennaPod for a while now and haven't ran into any hiccups. That being said, I'm perfectly willing to switch, can you give a comparison between the two?
Also, I'm in dire need of new podcasts, so you should recommend some.
>>
Launcher: Nova Prime

Music players: Poweramp, Black Player or Neutron (freetard alts: Apollo or Timber)

File manager: Solid Explorer (freetard alt: Amaze)

Maybe Greenify, Titanium Backup, Busybox Pro etc.

I wouldn't pay for personalization (widgets or icon packs) but it's just me.

pros of pocketcasts:
>feels better to find new podcasts with it since they have a better trending page
>feels responsive and it's not hard to download the back catalog of individual podcasts
>can filter through podcasts easily
>better playback options, like removing silence and a louder option if the podcast levels suck
>looks much better, which isn't saying much when it is mainly for listening and forgetting, but it counts for me

cons of pocketcasts:
>feed refreshing relies on their servers, so if their servers go down, you are stuck without being able to refresh your feeds
>makes it hard to import from another app, had to add by hand my subscriptions from antennapod
>push their web sync thing a bit, but easy enough to ignore it

all in all, that first con was almost enough to make me want to drop it, since i find it disgusting to have to rely on their servers to update my feed. had I not 200+ podcasts downloaded right now on it, i would have gone back to antennapod.
>>
>>55351966
>>55352102
that being said, i will enjoy everything besides having to rely on their servers for now.

others may be ok with that trade off, and i am sort of on the fence since it is a pretty app that does the job well.

anyway, as for recommendations, I am listening to a lot of true crime stuff, there are some linux related ones too, and the big public radio companies (npr, bbc, etc) have some good ones. i would probably say check out some of the top 100 ones, i'm subbed to many of those. but it is kinda hard to recommend some to a faceless anon, unless you just wanted to hear my top 5.

I think Solid Explorer and Nova Launcher are both on sale for $1 right now. Good timing!

LayerPaint HD is good if you have a drawing tablet.

Habit Browser has an ad in the bookmarks folder that you can remove via in-app purchase.
>>
>>55352102
I'd say that the second one is true of AntennaPod as well, though the rest are nice.
>>55352162
I'm fine with any recommendations; I used to not be big into podcasts but now I find that I am in a job with a lot of time to do very few tasks. I figure podcasts will help with that.
Currently I'm only listening to CGP Grey's podcasts, Hello Internet and Cortex.
Basically my only requirement is that hosts need to not literally be autistic; conversation skills are kind of necessary for it to be enjoyable to listen to.

What's in the free version? Is it worth it to purchase the pro?
>>
>>55352480
I think the free trial only lasts 14 days.
>>
>>55352484
But when it mentions the trial it implies that you can keep using it even if you don't pay.

Well its open source software and f-droid does not support sales. The dev still gets money from normalfags and still supports people who don't install gapps.

IRC for Android. Supports znc. The developer promptly temps to all my e-mails, even autistic ones.

The only con so far is no ability to switch from the dark theme.

And no source code, but fuck its a paid app.
>>
Drastic is a really excellent Nintendo DS emulator and worth paying for if you like playing games.

I paid for DropSync Pro because I need offline access to a lot of electronic documents.

I paid for Solid Explorer because it's the best file manager I've used on Android.

And I paid for Human Japanese... That was the most expensive purchase, I think.
>>
>>55353879
I fucking love IRC for Android.
Didn't pay for moine though, APK download. Fuck paying for an IRC client.
>>
C4Droid has been a more addictive time killer for me than any smartphone game. Action Launcher and Nova Prime are solid launchers and Click UI is a good looking icon pack.
>>
>>55355333
Was the second and fourth purchase worth it?
>>
>>55350975
>"textra team"
>>
>>55355826

Yes to Dropsync, I have several GB of documents mirrored on my PC and tablet SD card. Regular Android Dropbox does not 2-way sync with PC Dropbox, nor does it store files on your phone / tablet offline. Dropsync provides these features. Example use case: I have saved electronic copies of boarding passes for flights, and the gates at the airport can read the QR code right off my tablet's screen. No WiFi needed.

Human Japanese is really excellent, I haven't got my money's worth out of it, but that's because I'm a lazy fuck. It's very well designed.

Flesky keyboard is better and free
>>
>>55350143
>paid
>>
>>55350515
I pirated it. Should probably buy it. Nice looking app, but it has the annoying tendency to lose my place in podcasts when they're paused for a while.
>>
>>55355644
Where do you get paid apps without paying? Specifically that one?
>>
This reminded me to buy/download PocketCasts for iOS.

The interface of Apple's podcast app is really annoying a lot of the time (no quick way to bulk download or mark as listened / not, no intuitive way to queue). It's painfully obvious Apple pays no fucking attention to their podcast app, despite starting the whole craze.
