Military computer network will be using a VPN and the routing will be via the receptionists user account.
So you will get pinged by the main server where her roaming account is actually stored and through which all her internet access is piped, which will be at wherever the IT administration center is. In your case probably Ottowa.
Its just a VPN so relax. Try connecting to your gmail with TOR and see what weird country the connection links back to. Similar principle.
