So I'm in the planning stages of a new stereo. Looking for some suggestions for speakers. I'll definitely keeping it 2 channel as this is strictly for listening to music, no TV etc. My music taste is pretty eclectic, as in I listen to classical, jazz, ambient, metal, electronic, and/or everything else, but a lot of bass heavy rock/electronic music, so I need something with decent bass extension, but decently balanced all the way around. I'm trying to choose speakers before I choose a receiver/amp so I can choose something that matches well. I live in an apartment, so I don't NEED anything with crazy power handling, but buying a house is in my plan for the next 4 years, so something able to handle 100w would be ideal. My budget is a soft $1500, but if I stretch that too far I'd probably just save and get a pair of Klipsch Heresys. So, you guys have any recommendations?
I recommend single driver.

Why is that? I've never listened to a decent pair of single driver speakers, but then again I've never anything particularly great about them either. You got a pair you recommend?

Single driver is a meme, you NEED 3.

Well goddamn. Fucking memes. I wasted like 25 seconds on a google search for full spectrum speakers.
I was going to buy these: https://voll.com.au/shop/topping-vx1-dac-amplifier-headphone-amp/
Do I need to buy an amp as well to get these to work well with my computer if I have a soundcard?

What are you trying to hook up? This is a combination DAC (essentially a sound card) and 25W amp. You just plug the USB into your computer, and connect speakers or headphones to it.

vx1 dac is shit, better buy smsl SA50(speaker amp)+SD793II(headphone amp + dac)

Build your own single driver speaker
Cheap drivers like a Dayton audio full range will be great and cheap to build

With or without the amp? In canadian dollars that's pretty good deal, that's like $450-500 USD, right?
