perfect "infinite" storage!!??

I would like to know what you guys are using to storage and how watch your files, in each layer...

what plan you have?
amazon cloud driver? hubic? google drive? onedrive? dropbox?

how do you mount your device?
acd_cli? rclone? expandrive? netdrive? odrive?

what you use to encrypt the first layer?
cryfs? encfsmp? encfs? duplicati/deja-dup? cryptomator?

do you use a second layer? veracrytpt?trueCrypt? 7zip?

which is the machine that you use to provide your media?
raspberry pi? cubietruck? notebook? pc? vps?

what you use to manage and watch your files?
owncloud? pydio? plex? openelec? xbmc/kodi?

what is your combination?

Google Drive, i dont know anything about the other things, it just werks :^)
>>
I just store it in Pi
>>
>>55337626
How does that work? Pi is too slow?
>>
amazon cloud drive, acd_cli, encfs, no second layer, plex and rtorrent
>>
>>55337643
You just store the size and the index at which your file occurs in an infinite representation of Pi (e.g. decimal or binary).

you can help by answering a few questions?

do you hear about cryfs.org?

you bought an machine for just that?

you have a copy of the files on this machine, or it's all virtual, directly in acd?

your torrents downloading will directly into acd?

has a tutorial explaining how to configure acd_cli with encfs?
>>
Just buy a hard drive you retarded autistic mongoloid.
>>
>>55337762
Used https://amc.ovh/ mostly plex examples but can add rtorrent to same mounts

Never heard of cryfs but didn't look into any encfs alternatives.

I have about 4 dedicated servers hooked up to the same cloud drive with nothing stored locally everything streams from amazon.

Torrents do not write directly to acd, they are stored locally and uploaded once completed with a script.

All of my pictures are on google photos. I don't back anything else up, I'm not an autistic NEET who values my anime collection enough to double encrypt it but then still put it on somebody else's server.
>>
>>55337684
Doesn't work as the index becomes as long as the file you're trying to store. :-)
>>
>>55339415
That's why you store the index too, and the number of applications.

what if your house burns down?

Buy two, three or however many you need to feel save and store them at friends and relatives.

What if all the houses burn down?
>>
>>55339583
Then a cosmic force beyond your understanding and control clearly hates you and don't want you to have your 10bit chinese cartoons backed up. By storing the shit in the cloud you would only endanger other people of the same fate.

syncthing

>Syncthing for direct sync between devices
>Syncthing for cloning timemachine encrypted container to vps.
It works okay but there is no ios client and no file encryption, so it cant securely store data on remote server.
>>
>>55339484
How many times has your house burnt down?
>>
>>55339659
enough
>>
>>55339632
>and no file encryption
is anyone working on this?
>>
>>55339632
>so it cant securely store data on remote server.

just create an encrypted copy locally and sync it

it will require extra disk space and obviously can't be done instantaneously but it can be automated
>>
>>55340269 Nope https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/issues/109
>>55340287
All file-based encryption sucks nowadays.
encfs - outdated encryption standarts, cant encrypt metadata
cryptomator - works via webdav, cant into large files
cryfs - promising but too early in dev
sparkleshare, syncany - dead, no metadata encryption
seafile - also no metadata encryption

Btw i'm thinking about setting up tahoe-lafs.

>>55337204
I use Google Drive with Unlimited Storage.
>>
>>55337204
Google Drive for files I don't care about others seeing/getting, and Syncthing for files that I want to keep to myself.
