really didnt kniw that
Commercial large-scale deployments as well as appliance distributors all use Seagate.
However for consumer WD is probably better as long as you feed the mechanical jew and pick your color appropriately.
ive had no problems with WD whatsoever

WD's are my preference. Never had an issue them. The only drives that have ever died on me were Seagates. I know that means very little but whatever. WD's just have a quality feel to them too.

HGST is masterrace
I got WDs without doing proper research first. They've been fine for the past two years, but if I were shopping again I'd go with HGST.
Hitachi master race desu senpai.

HGST
At first glance you'd think Toshiba, after the various changing of hands, but it's really HGST. Through a series of strange and slightly amusing events (it is the weirdest corporate merger/acquisition if you look into it), HGST is situated as WD's premium division.
They're making the most solid drives as Hitachi did, while WD now sells failure-ridden consumer equipment under its own brand.
